Today's visitor (Oct 20) Found this little guy at by back doorstep this morning. I took him out of harms way from the cats and put him under a tree up the driveway aways. He was gone by the time we got back home.

Cute little owl, what kind is it? How'd you move him without getting clawed or pecked at? I've been told owls can be quite a handful when you do something with them.

Nice wildlife pictures. You must walk softly and carry a big camera to get those close-up shots.

Not that big of a camera, but the zoom isn't bad in the coyote pics. I took the coyote pics off my patio deck.
The owl was right at my back step and was easy to take pics of.
Sure hope the little guy made it.

If you ever make it west of Prince George you'll always have a place to stay :)
Moose are plenty here. This week is open season here  I know of 3 moose that didn't make it past the second day. Hunters are everywhere  ... even caught some coming out of my driveway the other day :x
Next time I see a moose I'll see if I can capture it with the camera for you. I'm sure I won't be seeing many until mid November now though.
I'm sure I have some that hang out in the back 80 acres as long as the hunters haven't found a way to get back there yet  .

Tim's has good hot chocolate and good chili. I don't care for their coffee at all though.

I don't really know what kind it was. He wasn't very big. Does anyone else here know?
We just picked him up and put him in a cat cage and took him out the driveway aways and placed the cage under a tree and opened the door. When we got back he was gone.
He did some beak snapping but he never fought at all when we picked him up. :)

did a bit of a search and he looks like the Boreal Owl.

Spotted owls are just about extinct. I read in a magazine (Canadian Geographic) yesterday there were only 22 left in the wild as of last summer. I'm not sure if that was just in BC or everywhere.
