I hope your dogs are trained for voice commands, with all that green grass they might not be able to see you. Things look pretty awesome there, with rain you live in a very productive spot in the world.

Slick looking bunch! What do you think they will weigh when they come off grass and what happens then?
Some in there look like they whould be pretty tasty right now.

Those first pics of grass and water looks just like some of my pastures come late July and a couple of Tropical Storms.

Keep a sharp eye for Gators & Snakes

Good looking cattle.

Thanks everyone, water and an abundance of grass, like NR said last week this would be a great time to sell the place!

Per, the Special Areas actually looks somewhat special this year. As regards voice commands as long as I am not yelling into a stiff wind my voice has a fair range :) I am not talented enough to use a dog whistle though my own whistle has a better range then my voice.

greybeard, May June calves backgrounded at about 1.25 as a bunch, hfrs and steers, hit the grass light at about 680 in mid May should weigh 300 lbs heavier come mid October, though from past experience they actually do better in a bit drier year when the grass is harder as long as the spring moisture is enough to actually grow some grass.

Depending on grass conditions and the market and our meat sales some mid cut steers may be sold mid August, the light and heavy steers will stay the course for our meat program. Some of the heavy steers may be kill quality by the end of October, maybe. Heifers, we are going to breed some for replacements and some for sale as bred heifers and some kept for our meat program. That is the plan at the moment anyway, subject to change at all times. :)

bverellen, funny you mention that because when we were moving through some of that water I thought about your country and the notion of having to deal with Gators. I am happy not to really have to think about it. :)
