To those of you who make yearly picture cd/dvds - what program do use to make them, and why do you like it? Also if you don't like one, and why. As I found out last year with Window Movie Maker...some are disasters!! So any advice is appreciated :)

i MovieHD and Roxio to make DVDs. It took me a LONG time to get comfortable with the programs (shortening video clips, combining them with photos, adding background music, changing volume levels and adding titles etc.) It was taking me about an hour of work to make a minute of DVD which seemed way too much. However, it is addictive. Whenever we take the grandchildren somewhere or take a trip or whenever my garden grows a tad there seems to be a reason to make yet another DVD.

I'm now using Photo Elements 5.0 It has a photo slideshow/video feature included along with the photo editing program. It's simple, you can add music.....then burn the cd/dvd

NO MORE PULLIN MY HAIR OUT!!!!!!! I tried windows movie maker, several times.

Speakin of which...it's bout time to start gettin mine put together. I'm so lookin forward to doin mine this year, with this new computer. Hopefully it'll go smooth as silk.

This new puter has a deal where you can light scribe photo's onto the label side of the disk. That'll prolly be what gives me grief...cuz I know Im just gonna hafta give that a try LOL

I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and Adobe Elements 3.0...No matter what program you use, it still takes lots of time and trial and error, but so worth it in the end..Lilly is pretty darn good with hers, so she's the one to ask for advice...Good luck with the projects!

Yes, they are. They may have a combined program by now, I'm not sure. I bought the PhotoElements 5.0 a year or so ago and that's what I use now for all my editing, and printing, and cd makin. I LOVE it!!!

Not necessary to have both, but I've found that DVD's burn better through both...First ya do the slide show with Photoshop, save, then when ya want to burn it sends it to adobe elements...they work together...but you can do a vcd with just adobe photoshop and they turn out good too.
