Picture tour South Dakota: Minuteman Missile Site

If you're planning to be near Wall SD check out the Missileman site on the web and set up an appointment for a free tour of the site led by a Ranger. They take groups of 6 down into the underground control area then to the launch site. Very interesting and everything is as they left it in the '60s. The armored car cost $65,000 back then, windows could not be opened and there was NO airconditioning! Imagine sitting in that in SD summertime :shock:

Are these short range missles, and are they still active. If our government shuts off the oil supply to the US, will you use them?

We had one of these about 3/4 of a mile from our house. They are all gone and they were long range. Aimed at Russia and thiers were aimed at us. They were out of date by the time they were installed. But we sure had some good gravel roads when they were here! :lol:
