I won't tell you that we're getting what she had right now   Not much tho as most is going south- just a few snow squalls-- but it looks like south toward Billings may have picked up a few inches....

Kris- Here I thought I was the only one with 4 dogs on the place..... :???:

UGH- Thats chilly calving..You must not be living right   Actually pretty nice here tonite...Wind blew 30 mph all day--but quit this evening and the temp is still 30... Weather boys say we are right on the edge of your artic air which is causing the winds......Snow showers quit and never even left a skiff on the ground....

cowboyup and our Janie-pup....she lost her paw several years ago in a coyote trap....the trapper found her about 2 miles from the house and none of us thought she'd make it...except, of course, for cowboyup!!

Usually by this time of year it is warming up quite nicely at nite but not this year. It seems we had March weather in January and now we have January weather in March... :( We are getting up every two hours through the nite to keep everyone safe and sound. Had one this afternoon and it was warm enough to leave him out with his moma. Went into feed the cows with the tractor and bale shredder and be darned if I didnt clip the new lil fella with a front tire. I didnt run him over the side of the tire just pushed him over. He got up but seemed kinda shaken. I was damn near in tears thought I had hurt him badly. We put him and his moma up in the barn for the nite so I better go over and check on him. Last year the neighbor up the road was putting bales in the bale feeders that still had some hay in them. He heard a cow bawling through the nite on one of his nitely checks and he couldnt find her calf, sure enough the calf had been sleeping in the bale feeder and he put the bale on top of it. He got the tractor out lifted the bale out but it was too late. He really felt bad about that!!

so glad you brought up the northern lights.....the most spectacular display of lights I have ever seen happened on the night of my mother's funeral april 18, 1999!!!! Heading home to ennis from deer lodge and about 1 in the morning, I had to pull the truck over...the rest of the family was asleep and these bright lights kept distracting me while I was driving! When I got out of the truck on the top of the Norris Hill and looked north, I could not believe my eyes!! They were......INCREDIBLE!! Sort of like my mom saying good-bye!! Now, everytime I see "the lights" I think of her and that magical night! Thanks for the wonderful memories and I hope you can get the pictures posted....that would simply make my day!! :D

YUP!!! cowboyup has a philosophy that ANYTHING washed too often wears out faster...including himself!! He is a typical green-eyed/redhead whereas he has alot of freckles...tells the boys that they are from too many baths as a child...says "see boys, this is what happens when you wash steel...it rusts"

Sayyy, tell cowboyup to wash his wool clothes. They will shrink up and get tighter so they will be lots warmer!

I do think that every time you wash a coat or a pair of pants, you are weakening it, so I guess it is sound logic. But I have this bad habit of liking my clothes(and me) clean. Seems to keep the missus happier too!

Now if I could just wash out my mind............

JB

A good coat - like a good coffee pot - should NEVER be washed. It takes al of the "goodness" out.

Every time you wash those good coats they lose about 10 degrees of warmth. Mine is going strong after about 7 years and only the rain has touched it.

Wife and kids will not touch it - they claim it has a "smell" to it. I have never had a complaint from the neighbours - but then again they are a polite bunch.

Great pics - love the doghouse.

hubby says "the cows don't seem to mind"....besides, it keeps the demodriver from "borrowing" the coat!! :D
As for washing out your mind...heck, jb....a clean mind is a sign of mental illness....I am sure that I have read that somewhere in one of my nursing books!!
