Pix of ranch country.

Heres some pix I took when we went down south of here and looked at some colts and then they guy sent 7 yearlings home for us to halter break and gentle down.

He runs on a big chunck of this country and there ain't many cross fences, going in the 8 miles of dirt road, into the headquarters.

I just found these today on the camera and ain't real sure how they turned out, so if they ain't good, I'm sorry I went to the trouble of loading them on here!

Did you notice how deep the road is cut into the dirt? I'll bet when the snow gets deep, ain't anybody goes in or out much. I did notice that there were quite a few places where they drove out onto the sod, when it rains.

Super pictures, JB. I like the looks of that country.
Where exactly is it?

Thanks for taking the time to show us!!

Close to Manderson, SD.

North of Ogalla, SD.

South of Rockyford, SD.

Get out your map.

It's about 2 to 2 and a half hours, south southwest of me.

East of Olerichs and a little north.

That help? :D

That is as clear as mud. Sadly enough I think those are standard South Dakota directions.

have a cold one (the directions make more sense.)

Could be the reason he keeps his hat on all the time --They say that causes the back of the head to get pretty shiney ducking under those teepee flaps... :???:

(In my best Moe imitation) Ohhh, a couple of wise guys aye? :x

Nope, never got the oppourtunity to teepee creep. But I'll bet it was a lot of fun, huh guys? :D

You two sound like experts, so maybe you better elucidate and enlighten some of the readers who don't know what it is? :???:

As for the remark about hiding behind my son. Hell yes. I'll hide behind him! He's younger, tougher and knows all them people from HIS younger days. You see, he went to a school a lot closer to the rez than I did and in my time there was a lot of that AIM stuff going on, so white eyes weren't very welcome on the rez.

And you know what? I sure don't blame them.

I was going to make some smart comment about how we sure screwed up and left our red brothers with way to much good country, but thought some on here might mistake me and take me serious.

My feelings are, the oldtime ones got screwed by out wonderful Uncle Sam.

But the ones now, better get over it and get on with life, as I don't think they will ever get it back. Just like any of my ancestors who got shoved off from a piece of land, had to suck it up and go on with THIER life.

I ain't a racist. I like most all of my fellow man, whatever their color. But there are a few individuals in every race who do make it difficult to be a loving christian!

Whoa now pilgram.... I think Old Timer will agree with me when I say "What goes on in the teepee stays in the teepee," besides this is a friendly clean websight there is no use bringing up those days.

Yes they say that about Vegas, but teepee creeping has been around alot longer than Vegas. :D When you think about it both places are a huge gamble.

Can you imagine trying to find your direction in that country with no landmarks before it was "well-settled"! :? I like directions that say turn left at the Dunkin Donuts. :D
