Pleasant surprise

About a week ago I went out to feed and found a 3 year old cow had wandered out onto a patch of ice. She had been struggling for quite a while from the marks on the ice. I slid her to the edge and after a little while she got up and wobbled away. She only went about 100 yards and layed down again and wouldn't get up. So I hauled her to the barn where it was at least dry and could get some footing if she tried. A week goes by and I'm thinking she probably never will get up again and went out yesterday and she was up. Went to give her some more water and she wants to chase me out of the pen. That's the thanks I get.

My buddy took some exotic cows on shares once-he had a big Char cow down after popping out a 150 pounder. One afternoon we tried to rig up a tripod and sling her up with old baler belts. She was on the peck from the start and didn't improve as we harnessed her up. We gave up and went to town for coffee-when we got back she had destroyed everything and got back on her feet-we must of popped something back into place wrasslin' around. Glad your downer decided to live!
