Please Mister Soapweed

Please Mister Soapweed, would you give a guy a hand,
I have had all I can take, more than I can stand.
It’s not much that I ask of you, I know you can do it Pard,
It ain’t all that bothersome, really ain’t that hard.

Would you please post for me, some cattle on the range,
Anything to do with cowboys would be a sightly change.
Cause all the things I been seein’ here, on this Ranchers net,
Are things we don’t much worry about, most we will regret.

I am sick and tired of reading, of marriage of the same sex,
I’ve grown old and weary, of the plight of the illegal Mex.
I don’t think I can take, another thread about queers,
I don’t matter anyway, we’re speaking to deaf ears.

I have had enough, of calling our president a liar,
Of criticizing every one for anything, even the man up higher.
Just for this once, it would be fun to see,
Something to do, with cows and the ranching industry.

I’m tired of people just picking fights for fun,
What seems to be the matter, have they gotten too much sun?
I could care less, about some ladies self esteem,
Even by saying this, I will be crucified as mean.

Don’t these R-calfers know PETA is licking at their chops,
All of these fights amongst us, they can use them as props.
They will knock us all down, without a single fight,
We will take our own selves out, what an ugly sight.

Fighting with the Canadians, that is just plain crude,
Don’t these people know, treating them this way is rude?
Whatever has happened to all of humanity,
Reading this garbage on Ranchers, is that the way it will be?

Have people forgotten how to laugh, even how to smile,
Maybe they haven’t counted, their blessings for awhile.
So please would you post for me, something that is fun,
Maybe a some old range cows, or cowboys in the sun.

Great poem and content. As I was riding a good young horse this evening and looking at green grass and the antics of silly steers, I kept thinkin', man this is great! Hope you have a great day tomorrow. :D

Can't get better than green grass to put steers on. Sure makes puttin up with the green and white worthwile. If you guys look like we do, today was a great day to be doing what we do, happy cattle, sweet green grass, birds singing, kinda poetic day, except I was working on a pickup this afternoon, skinned knuckles cause the poem to be somewhat crass and beligerent

That'll learn you to be a grease monkey.

Did I mention, I hate grease? I think you could roll me in what the cows and horses drop and I'd like it better than getting even a little grease on me. I hate grease!

I ran into all kinds of problems this afternoon. So now my problem is
we have to pay for the steak we didn't get too eat.

I was really disappointed that we didn't make it... :cry2: :cry2:

My corrals stink like an Iowa feedlot from the cattle that spent some time during the nasty weather, in it. We have to spay some of the heifers so I pushed some of the muck out of the way and pulled a post and a section of fence and then dug a new hole and planted a post and was just getting done with drilling the holes for the hinges for the new, very heavy, gate, when the missus came pulling in, just in time to lend a hand. Man do my corrals stink!

Sorry to any of you who feed cattle, but there is a lot different smell to them when they've been on silage and corn, than when they've been on hay and grass.

I noticed this evening, that the steers are losing their silage smell and getting their grass smell. Much nicer, IMO.

My shoulder is still sore from digging and tamping the hoile for the railroad tie I set. But the ground sure was damp in the hole! :D

Now I remember why I push them pipes in the ground for my corners in my pastures. Dang, and I've got to go rope and drag calves tomorrow with a sore shoulder. Oh well, it's a terrible job, but somebody's got to do it.

:D

I feel sorry for you buddy, buck it up, somebody has to do it, not your roping arm I hope. Course if it is, you probably can't wrestle either, you'll be assigned to guarding the cooler with the dark beer in it

Yup, the roping arm. Or even worse or maybe better stated, the re-building the loop, arm.
Horor's! Guarding the beer cooler! Man, I just don't know if I could handle that.

We ain't wrestling any of them. Heading and heeling. I suppose I'll just have to cowboyup and do the roping as I ain't much help on the ground.

I might even take a picture or two to share with you to let you know about all the fun you missed out on. :p

Got any more mechanic'n to do? I'm sure it will be, oh so much fun for you. Wish I didn't have to go brand. I'd just love to come help you play in the grease.

You asked for it, this is what you get. These are the only pictures I've taken lately, all from today. Usually it's amazing how little there is to see in a small town, but what you hear more than makes up for it. Unfortunately there was not much to see or hear in town on this day.

Thanks, Soap. And that is an amazing picture of Peach Blossom.
It needs lightened a bit, but that picture is more worthy of being
someplace else than here.

It looks so natural, so carefree...what a cowgirl, cow-woman, horse-woman! Whatever...

Do something great with that photo, like enlarge it and frame it.
Those kind don't come along every day!!

You captured her right there, forever. Don't let it get away.
What a beautiful smile...and look at her hands...

Keep it, keep it!
