Didn't come up with too many pictures today, because we were too busy. Five of us branded 173 calves after three o'clock this afternoon, but it was dark before we got done.
We had a few confugalties that slowed down our progress. Peach Blossom was sitting on a calf so it wouldn't get out the gate as we let a bunch of cows go through. The little varmit kicked with a hind foot, and it's sharp little toe caught my lady's Wranglers. It was a major wardrobe malfunction as one leg of her jeans split from her belt to below her knee. She had to buzz home in a pickup to find some more pants.
A few calves were a little scoury, so we took the opportunity to doctor them with Nuflor and Banamine while they were captured. As Saddletramp was branding one calf, it squirted and swished it's tail simultaneously. Unfortunately, some of the evil potion went right into my cowboy friend's mouth. He immediately started gagging, and watching him from the top of my horse, caused me to have the same sympathy symptoms. I had to dismount. My son and one of his friends had a good laugh watching us two old codgers gagging and carrying on. When we regained our senses, I told Saddletramp it was a good thing he had his mouth open or that nasty stuff would have got all over his face.
