yes, i have. a son about the same age as some of the soldiers in iraq and afghanistan right now. cause of death - couldn't be determined by the coroner. i can't speak for any of the families who have lost children in the wars but i do know some of the things they are feeling and i can say one of the things i wouldn't feel is pride. that's all i've got to say except that i don't think fminus should be making suggestions unless he is qualified to at least feel real empathy.

All this talk about WMD's who really cares!

This DOES pertain to AHole:

My first guess would be the parents , children and grandparents of all the soldiers who have died to date or ones that carry life altering injury.....all due to a war without substance or purpose other than one man's ' Daddy Complex"

Veterans should kick your azz for what you just said.

How would you know how the parents of the soldiers feel? Maybe they are proud of the sacrafice thier children gave for this country?

Well...how do you think you can say that no one cares????

You're saying you wouldn't be proud that your son died doing the one think that he wanted to do when he joined the military???? (They're 100% volunteers) Damn you sound like Cindy Sheehan. (Wonder if she ever put a marker on her son's grave)

I'd rather lose a son or daughter fighing for my country than have one with "cause of death unknown"..

I did not say no one cares! I just said maybe they are proud of their children's choices and sacrafice. I am sure their are those that feel both ways, but I would venture to bet their are more that are proud of their child's sacrafice!

But I have not lost any child in this war so I can only speculate! Have you?

YES! A child that I took in and raised as my own killed in Iraq!!! Many here know this, you may not.

I stopped making any reference to it as I was made fun of when I would send CARE packages to the troops......his and those he knew, as I pseudo adopted them.

And...ya know what you little pizz ant.... I CARE!!!

Now write that down.....and shut the hell up about something you know NOTHING about.

Another dummy that thinks you get patriotism out of standing on the corner flagwaving and fearmongering.....

My heart goes out to all those who have lost somebody they cared about,no matter the circumstances. Losing someone you love is a lonely and painful experience...It takes a part of your heart with it that only returns in memories..Tears and smiles are all we are left with..Time does not heal all wounds,it may close the cut but the scare never leaves...My condolences to all who have lost a loved one.

Yep oldtimer our resident comedian at his finest as usual. except he cannot find any original joke so he tells those jokes put out by others, makes as much sense as most of his cut and paste junk!

Yep a real winner there!!!

When you asked don the Have You question...I knew what his answer was. I figured,TB will be fast tracking back. Nope instead your post got pretty mean :?

THE biggest hurt one will ever face in their life is the loss of a child{doesn't matter the age or if like Kolas a child of their heart}it really doesn't matter how that loss came about.
don wasn't putting down the soldiers he was stating an true statement to the feelings one has when loss occurs.

In reality NONE of us like seeing a soldier come home flag covered, doesn't matter what side of a party one supports.

As for Aplus....he does alot of talking the talk.....

Oldtimer, I really think that it's time for you to leave your partisanship out of the moderating. I read over this thread several times and there was nothing in it that would justify even considering deleting it. Should things be personal? No. But that's what happens in here sometimes and this was far from being over the line - there's been things a lot worse that haven't been deleted.

You thought about deleting it, but didn't because:

"I was hoping you would come back and show him up for the Pizz Ant he is..."

Do you think that's fair and impartial moderating? Because I sure as hell don't.

This isn't the first time that you have admitted using your ideology in moderating things here. And I hope you challenge me on that statement, because I've got another thread bookmarked where you admitted doing the same thing - moderating based on YOUR ideology. That's bullsht.

after ot considered deleting i pm'd him to say don't bother on my account. i should maybe have kept out of it but i'm in it now. as ron white says on the blue collar comedy tour, 'i had the right to remain silent. but i did not have the ability.' i guess if you lose a child you might try to take some comfort in how they died but i think that feeling would go away and be replaced by the grief. and anyone who does feel that pride i'm sure would surely give it up to have that young person alive again and be able to talk with them and watch them grow with time. for me there is also the aspect of the war being promoted and pushed by bush and cheney who didn't have the balls to serve when they were asked. i guess if cowardice was a crime they should receive capital punishment because they have shown cowardice through this whole affair. i know a lot of americans won't agree with me but bush is the last guy who should be able to send military into combat. he's a cowardly weasel.
