I guess the real joke in this is that these people don't want anything to die. Someone here said that people breed bad horses that won't be suitable for work and then are killed and these are bad horse breeders. I don't agree with that at all. Some race horses are bred from $100,000 stud fees, they don't all pan out and it isn't from a lack of care or training it's the fact that nothing in life is certain. To some horses are for work, others pets, and to many both, but many people on ranches don't have the time or money to cater to ole Shurfoot into his 30's. This bill won't stop the slaughter of horses it will just cost people more money and put more bones in the blowouts.
