I've had a really couple of crappy days..
One of the ladies I help judge creed speaking with had to leave the competition early yesterday because her grandson was in an terrible accident. He is four years old. And is not expected to live.

Then today I saw a classmate who had jumped off the bale wagon and broke both his heels. He told me his employer gave him a eviction notice the day before Thanksgiving. He has worked for this ranch for years and lost his loving wife several years ago... And in doing so has raised two children... Please pray for these folks as they are gong through a really tough time.... Especially at Christmas.... Just doensn't make sense to me.... :(

I hope the best for these people. These things at Christmas time really get to a person.

The FFA creed is learned by the new members and is always recited in a contest.

I believe in the future of agriculture with a faith born not of words but of deeds--achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.

I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.

I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.

I believe in less dependence on begging and more power in bargaining; in the life abundant and enough honest wealth to help make it so--for others as well as myself; in less need for charity and more of it when needed; in being happy myself and playing square with those whose happiness depends on me.

I believe that American agriculture can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life and that I can exert an influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task.

I also remeber the Parliamentary procedure contests in FFA

Katrina, is there anything we can do for the fellow that broke his
heels? What does he need? Does he have a place to go to, does
he need some money??? And of course, I will pray for both families.
So sad...

Good news....... Got an email from my friend Diane and she said that her grandson is a Christmas miracle. They do have a long road ahoe, But she is quite sure that all the prayers made the differance.. Thank You everyone...

After not being able to sleep friday nite I called our pastor about Dwayne and his family and he said that he knew of the situation and that one of the members of the church was going to offer him a house. Also another rancher had a trailer house available and maybe a job when he can work. Also the lions club was going to have a benifit for him... It's on my way to take Dean to school so I think I will stop in and see how the packing is going... Thank you :D

I did day care for Dwayne's kids when they were small. I so enjoyed his wife's daily visits when she picked up the kids. I pray for this family regularly. I know everything will work out, it is all about patience! Oh, by the way, this is Mrs James!
