The "Hostile Native" and I took a bale of hay Wright town today for a friend who had run out. After they finished yacking and we ran an errand I had to fuel up the old feed truck. The "Native" went in to prepay and I waited at the pump. While I was waiting this car pulled up and this tall grey haired gentleman stepped out to fill up also. I was watchin' and thinking I knew him from somewhere. He was wearing a belt buckle that said Wyoming (something). I couldn't tell what. It also had a buckin' horse logo like everything else in Wyoming. He went in to pay and then I figured out what the second word on his belt buckle said, "Wyoming Governor". I waved at the "Native" to come here. When she got out to the pump I asked her if she knew who the tall guy was. "Nope", she says. I told her,"That's the Governor". He came back out and after turning the pump on he came over and started talking. I introduced myself and when we shook hands he said,"Just call me Dave". We talked for a little bit and I must say, I thought it was pretty cool. He just left office due to term limits and now Matt Mead is the strawboss. While Dave Freudenthal was governor though, he went to every funeral of the fallen soldiers who were killed in the war. I'm not sure how many other governors did or do that. But due to Wyomings size, not only was he able to do it, he did do it. I was pretty impressed to see the Governor filling his own tank.
