Prince Harry not going to Iraq

I admire Prince Harry's willingness to go to Iraq with his fellow soldiers, but believe the military leaders made a smart choice in not allowing him to go! Mostly because of the danger he would bring to his fellow troops.

I do wonder though if maybe he is really going, but this is to just throw off the terrorist that would be looking for him. But then again the media would probably catch on to it if he was not out in the public eye.

LONDON - Britain’s Prince Harry will not be sent with his unit to Iraq, Britain’s top general said Wednesday, citing specific threats to the third in line to the throne and the risks to his fellow soldiers

I believe if the Royal Family stalking British media would have shut thier pens down this young man could have served his country as he so badly wants to.Watched him interviewed on Canada AM this morning..hes sorrily disapointed he cannot serve a term in Iraq. I give him so much credit for having the desire to want to :)

If the British media is anything like it is over here, they would have probably got the kid killed. Probably told exactly where he was located, what kind of vehicle he was driving and his day to day schedule :x

I would love to find out that this was all a misinformation and he actually gets to go serve as he wishes. If he could just have a little privacy then the terrorist would never be able to pick him out of the group, with his gear on. But as soon as he was out of the public eye for a week or two, stories would surface that he was over in Iraq.

You know what Aplus,I really don't think that is the case for one simple reason, that young man will be noticed two days tops if hes out of the paparazzi eye. Its disgusting how they stalk that family. What was said this morning that the British army was already getting reports of hits on Harry if he showed up in Iraq.I understand his place in the Royal family makes him a target but honestly the media and paparazzi take the stalking way too far,and I believe its thier fault he can't serve his country :(

while i admire his willingness i think this is one time it is best that he bend to the desire of the elders and serve elsewhere
yes the media and the WELL meaning citizens (YEA RIGHT) that support his deployment could have been diasterious to the whole group! kinda like some of our big mouthed supposed troop supporters who claim they are doing so much to support yet basically pin point positions.
and even more so those that claim support yet bash the government and the powers that be! this only fuels the will of the enemy because they believe they have support from within the citizens of the us

been there heard that, witnessed it as well, still do

Prince Harry training at Alberta military base: reports

(CBC) - Prince Harry was training at CFB Suffield with his British Army comrades over the weekend, according to Alberta media reports.

The 22-year-old prince, who is third in line to the throne, was reportedly taking part in live-fire exercises at the base, 160 kilometres southeast of Calgary.

One report, citing unidentified sources at the base, said the prince arrived last Wednesday, but a British military spokesman at Suffield would not confirm or deny this. There was no mention of a departure date.

Harry was spotted laughing and joking with soldiers in a café bar at the base in Suffield, according to the Calgary Herald newspaper.

"He was just talking to the boys. He just blends right in. I think he's just a normal boy. He likes to enjoy himself," a source quoted by the paper said.

Harry, or 2nd Lieut. Wales, as the British military refers to him, is said to be preparing for possible deployment to Afghanistan.

Although he wanted to be sent to Iraq, the British military decided against that last month, citing specific threats to his life and risks to his fellow soldiers.

Looks like hes determined in his career choice...although Alta. grapevine says Suffield isn't the Alta. training center hes at
