We went to the Heart City Progress Show in Valentine last Sunday and had a pretty good outing. My daughter, Shannon, ended up with Reserve Champion Stocker Feeder Heifer and Grand Champion Stocker Feeder Steer. The calves were bred by my cousin, Kevin Heath of Cody, NE. Both calves are Angus x Simm on the maternal side and % Maine sires.

Another cousin's daughter had Grand Champion S. F. Heifer, so I think the family was represented well. Her calf was bred by her father, Dale Bowlin.

Nice pictures, Sandhusker. Congratulations to Shannon for doing a fine job. You must be raising the right kind--calves and kids. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kudos, but I don't have a heck of a lot to do with it. My cousin, Kevin, is the man. I just show up every now and then and pound a staple or man a gate.
