queer move by gay-mart

In a show of support to help homosexuals legalize same-sex marriage, Wal-Mart has agreed to automatically donate 5% of online sales directly to the Washington DC Community Center for Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender People. The cash donation will come from ALL online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's Web site. This move follows Wal-Mart's joining the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and agreeing to give generous financial help to that group.

Every purchase made online for books, music, videos, clothing and accessories, children's clothing and toys, and electronics at the site will automatically send 5% of the sales to the homosexual group.

With this agreement, Wal-Mart made clear their support for the homosexual movement was a total commitment to the cause.

Many observers feel it would have been a wise business decision for Wal-Mart to remain neutral in the cultural battle over homosexual marriage. But this was an ideological decision by Wal-Mart, not a business decision. Wal-Mart decided to give the promotion of homosexual marriage their full support.

Thanks for reminding us of this, RR. Apparently, it's not all online sales from Walmart...

http://www.snopes.com/politics/sexuality/walmart.asp

But it's quite obvious where their intent lies. One more reason to shop with your small local retailer...even if it costs you more.

When Sam died, so did his success at winning over customers.....

I can see walmart fading into the past....just as other retail giants...remember Five and Dime?...Woolworth?,..,...Montgomery Ward?,....Sears?....J C Penny?,...it's just a matter of time....

I think somebody is homophobic .
I think everybody should be homophobic. My dictionary defines a 'phobia' as:

a lasting abnormal fear OR great dislike of something.

If you don't have the guts to be vocal about your dislike for it, you only encourage and enable more it. :x

I am but not as much as I used to be. Not so long ago if I saw two gay guys on TV I would feel like pukeing. But there is nothing but queers on TV anymore and im starting to get desensitized to it.
Now when I see them I only get revolted if I see them <before I can look away>touch one another.
My biggest concern are young people who grow up in front of the TV. If I can be desensitized to it, whats it going to do to them? There going to be all hippie and tolerant about it.

I'm glad to see they're using those tax cuts for a worthy cause.

X,you better not shop at wall mart,it may turn you gay......Or maybe you fear homosexuality because you still have yet to feel secure with your choice of heterosexuality?.....Do you remember flipping that coin the day you chose?....Does a part of you regret your choice?.....cause you do believe you chose hetro right?....

Your are a good laugh, though you should be more proactive with your wit.....maybe help out the down trodden of your country rather than pick on stuff you can not control....You come across as a person who thinks the world of himself......like you know all...some what arrogant even....not sure arrogent is a fair discription, but you know what I mean, right?

I am sure there are groups that meet somewhere that could help with the obvious struggle you may have identifying your true sexual preference.....It just seems you go outta your way on this subject ...Almost to the point of fighting an inside battle......best of luck dealing with your inner confusion,I hope you can feel comfortable one day be it hetro or homo....Of course,It is just my opionon, and we all know I no nothing........LOL

I remember when we asked for a donation of 12 sets of twin sheets (for the single Soldiers) in Scott's unit returning home from Iraq. We were told that they only donated for things that will "Better the community". Bringing our Soldiers home would not better our community? Donating money and supporting the homosexual move across our Nation is bettering our community?
Form your own opinion and sign the petition if you disagree with Wal-Marts decision to not remian nuetral.

 That was pretty funny :D
Hey I wouldnt care what they do in the privacy of their own place.
Its when they force churches to marry them, try to adopt children and bring their smut into the school system to preach to our children that causes me to dislike them.

As we all should, whatever our personal opinions of the politics behind the war, the troops deserve our unwavering support.
In view of the attitude of your local Walmart, it makes the attitude of the local one, which services Ft Bragg all the more ironic.

Afew weeks ago on my regular livechat forum, one of the British residents toldus of some newly returned soldies who were viewing a house for sale, as they were in uniform, the house was daubed with anti-military slogans overnight by local Muslim youths, the local council refused to allow the SOLDIERS to return to the are instead of having the culprits arrested.
Considering how our Muslim community fought side by side with us against the Communist terrorists in the 70's makes this type of attitude all the more dissapointing, national identity should bind a people regardless of religeon, race or politics.

Wasnt' it Dis who said these petty little boycotts have no real effect on major corporations???

Wal-Mart Says It Will Not Make Corporate Contributions To Support Or Oppose Controversial Issues
Wal-Mart has announced it "will no longer make corporate contributions to support or oppose controversial issues unless they directly relate to their ability to serve their customers." AFA is pleased with this announcement.

Wal-Mart made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

In response to Wal-Mart's statement, AFA has decided to cancel its efforts of encouraging people to not shop at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club this Friday and Saturday.

Part of the new release you missed, RR:

"Mona Williams, Wal-Mart's vice president of communications, said in a telephone interview that the company would continue working with the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and other gay-rights groups on specific issues such as workplace equality."

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/11/21/222013.shtml?s=us

But do you think the news release is possibly just good-timing for Wal Mart since it's the Christmas shopping period?
