Question About Cheat Grass--

How can a good stand of alfalfa one year get completely taken over by cheat grass the next spring? My hay field looks like it was seeded down with it. Sure blows me away as to how it happened.

Cheatgrass is an INVADER, so it can show up anywhere and everywhere.
If you got moisture last fall, that makes it perfect for cheatgrass
this spring.

I see it showing up in our pastures now, too.

We had it all over our pastures and hay ground last year. So far it looks like less cheatgrass and more weeds this year. :x

Most of the asylium has turned red, but there is still lots of it and i think it took a lot of moisture away from the grass.
