Question for OT about LE?

Are they taught to beat their wives, by the training manual, or is it just a tradition?

If the training manual did teach it, would it still only be a tradition, or policy?

Does the NFL have the same traditions, or training manual, even though they have a lower rate of spousal abuse?

some career choices tend to lead to abusive behavior...

Research suggests that family violence is two to four times higher in the law-enforcement community than in the general population.

If there's any job that domestic abuse should disqualify a person from holding, isn't it the one job that gives you a lethal weapon, trains you to stalk people without their noticing, and relies on your judgment and discretion to protect the abused against domestic abusers?

studies have found that at least 40 percent of police officer families experience domestic violence, in contrast to 10 percent of families in the general population. A third study of older and more experienced officers found a rate of 24 percent, indicating that domestic violence is two to four times more common among police families than American families in general." Cops "typically handle cases of police family violence informally, often without an official report, investigation, or even check of the victim's safety," the summary continues.

Melzer tested several hypotheses and found that men in the following occupations have higher rates of violence at home than men in managerial occupations:
 Men in "female-dominated occupations" (i.e., clerical workers), 47% higher;
Men in "physically violent occupations" (i.e. police, military, correctional) 43 percent higher.
Men in "dangerous occupations" (i.e., working with explosives, mining, emergency workers), 23% higher.
Some of his findings seem like common sense. Men in stressful or dangerous or violent jobs bring that stress home and are more likely to engage in domestic abuse

Intimate Terrorism (IT) is more prevalent among poor people. When evaluating situational couple violence, poor people, subject to greater strains, have the highest percentage of situational couple violence, which does not necessarily involve serious violence.[57]

Since there are more poor African Americans, though, there is a higher incidence of domestic violence overall

The study found that the lowest reported rates of domestic violence occurred among active conservative Protestants (2.8% of husbands committed domestic violence), followed by those who were religiously unaffiliated (3.2%), nominal mainline Protestants (3.9%), active mainline Protestants (5.4%), and nominal conservative Protestants (7.2%).[61] Overall (including both nominal and active members), the rates among conservative Protestants and mainline Protestants were 4.8% and 4.3%, respectively.[61] Examining Wilcox's study, Van Leewen finds that the parenting style of conservative Protestant fathers is characterized by features which have been linked to positive outcomes among children and adolescents,[

"religious involvement, specifically church attendance, protects against domestic violence, and this protective effect is stronger for African American men and women and for Hispanic men, groups that, for a variety of reasons, experience elevated risk for this type of violence."

While Christianity lowers the incident rates.. other major religions do not.. who would have thought that?

Islam tends to increase the incidences..

so in summery... poor folk are more likely to be abusive,.. add in lack of a moral guideline or a corrupted moral guideline and the rate increases.

so basically.. liberal policies that push away organized Christian religion. and keep people poor are at fault...

liberals war on woman...

if you want to decrease domestic violence provide an economy that promotes good jobs.. and encourage church attendance, not try to wipe it off the face of the map..
