Question for the women

Or men....LOL some of ya'll have crafty sides too.

I was just sittin here contemplating startin somethin else. I don't know if it'll be a rug, a quilt, or what. Haven't made up my mind yet. It's nasty weather out....can't really do anything outdoors right now. So might as well keep myself busy by doin somethin useful. I finished my last quilt and got it gone to the new owners last week. So now I'm projectless at the moment.

I was just wondering what some of you do to keep busy when your snowed in. Post some pictures...share your ideas.

I have a BIL that is a big kid himself. He's always up for any game. Kids like it a lot. Good looking kids.

[/img] Sometimes I take pictures in a restaurant and try to recreate them at home. I haven't tried making this dessert yet from a Savannah restaurant but will when I get the chance. Then we invite some friends over for a taste test. Nothing like being invited to be a guinea pig! This was a praline basket made with crushed pralines and almonds in carmelized sugar (?) filled with small ball of icecream topped with mango sauce, some blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and drizzle of chocolate. The basket was "glued" onto the plate with chocolate so it stood up nicely and didn't slide off enroute to the table.
Mr. nr and I shared this one which was a large dose of sugar!

That is way cool nr..... I would love to learn how to make those praline baskets. I use to make cornacoppias(sp) out of bread then fill them with sweet breads and candies for gifts........ Was kinda fun... Or braid bread into a wreath and decorate it with cherries and dried fruit with white drizzled frosting... I haven't done that for years....

It will probably mean hunting on Google for the recipe. I'll PM you if there is a good recipe. I think there was a tv show once where they drizzled the hard cooked sugar on waxed paper...maybe  ...of course I can't remember the details...by swinging a wooden spoon of the molten stuff back and forth to weave the basket. First degree burns here we come
