I have friends who's girls have qualified to travel to New Mexico again this year. Last year there were some worries about an outbreak of EVA, so they did not travel down from Sask.

Just wondering if there are any issues this year? Also, what about ticks coming back across the border? Vet inspection needed.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

All that info will be on the NHSRA website or their info from the finals-it's an adventure going down there for sure. What are you friends name from Sask.

Havent heard of any EVA or any other new critters causing problems yet this year here in NM, but the year is early. You might check out the web site for the NM Livestock Board. It is http://www.nmlbonline.com/

There has been at least one confirmed case of Equine infectious anemia (EIA) in southwestern Montana (Bozeman area I think) ... That may be what they heard about...That was found about a month ago-and I haven't heard if any more cases showed up or not...That shows up on the Coggins test which is needed to move horses thru most states...

Ticks in this area are atrocious this year!!!
