For all of you who want NO GOVERNMENT involvement in the economy or markets of the US.....

Taking for granted that the ' stimulus' passes...........

What will you do with your so called ' rebate' check?

If you are so ' against' gov't intervention, then you should refuse the $$$ as it would go against your better judgement.

Me, I will do with it like I did the $600 or so ' tax cut' ck.

I gave that to the local womens shelter and I shall do the same if any of this comes my way.

I heard a deal on the pickup radio this morning that burns by biscuits, and am almost starting to see why Bush could be bashed. Soon he will be heading off on a visit to five African countries. In the radio news bite, it said that he is pledging 30 billion dollars to the country of Tanzania for something to do with AIDs. Why is it our responsibility to bail them out for problems caused by irresponsible sexual behavior? Feeding hungry foreigners is one thing; contributing to AID in sexual perversion is quite another.

Back to your original question, Kola, I will spend the money wisely, but in a yet undetermined manner.

A few years ago our the Alberta government had a surplus of money and gave every Albertan 18+ a $400 check, yup I donated mine to our closest city that had to "FUND RAISE" for a CT machine....I personally HATED the idea of these rebate cheques,I felt it would have benefited the whole province if they would have bought a number of smaller hospitals things like CT machines.

Kolo, The boss lady probably already has it ear marked for the grandbabies. She is good at that. She spent most of her nickels on a new Buick Enclave last week. She also discussed donations to "Project Hope" in December. Hence, that is in the back of her mind if she didn't donate already.

My annual bonus comes in about 6 weeks. It is mine to spend. 12 tons or so of fertilizer and some long eared cows should just about wipe it out.

Interesting responses.

But from what I read it seems that the majority of you all who claim that you DO NOT want gov't involvement in ' the' economy nor your own" personal "economy are willing and wanting to use the money from the government for your own personal use.

Very interesting.

Very interesting.

They are involved period. They took several thousand this year and I'll soon know how much more they want. Then there are those who paid NOTHING who are getting a refund.

Interesting that they pass laws such as the seat belt law to attain revenue. Get in the back of a truck and it is okay to ride around. Get in the front seat without a seat belt driving 30 MPH on a county road and it'll cost you. I have learned first hand a few times now. It seems the insurance companies were behind this and it was suppose to lower my rates. When is that going to happen?

The government gets a cut of anything I do on the side too. If you make a thousand dollars selling flagstone you picked up off of your property, they want well over a third of it.

The bigger question is since the libs think that gov is the answer to all our problems and they seem to always preaching the virtues of the gov taking tax money.....................if that is true why would you think taking the money and giving it back to the people can help. After all we keep hearing from the libs how much good the gov can do with our tax money.

We can't have a consumer economy and keep cutting the amount of the economy the majority of consumers get in pay in the economy.

It is a matter of time that this philosophy will fail, as we see happening right now.

I am wondering just what sexual perversion you are talking about? Should be interesting.

I will probably just pay taxes with it.

The problem is, you will be taxed on it as well..................
If it is like the last one in 2001, it is not taxed because it is an advance on your tax refund for over paying. I suppose the ones who paid no tax could have to pay but if they made a certain amount of money, then they probably had taxes deducted and that would take care of that money. It isn't a gift for sure and neither was the last one.

This is from aids.org:

HOW DO YOU GET AIDS?
You don't actually "get" AIDS. You might get infected with HIV, and later you might develop AIDS. You can get infected with HIV from anyone who's infected, even if they don't look sick and even if they haven't tested HIV-positive yet. The blood, vaginal fluid, semen, and breast milk of people infected with HIV has enough of the virus in it to infect other people. Most people get the HIV virus by:

having sex with an infected person
sharing a needle (shooting drugs) with someone who's infected
being born when their mother is infected, or drinking the breast milk of an infected woman
Getting a transfusion of infected blood used to be a way people got AIDS, but now the blood supply is screened very carefully and the risk is extremely low.

Basically, sexual promiscrewity is the main way to spread the AIDs disease.

Regardless of the AIDs problem in Tanzania, why is it the responsibility of the government of the United States of America to spend $30 billion hard-earned taxpayer's dollars on the boondoggle? Probably 99% of this money will never even reach the people it is supposed to help. I have long been a supporter of President Bush, but this particular incident even has me in an outrage of his careless throwing around of money.
