Not sure, but some work looks to have been started on the subject.

There is no debate that volcanos can and have had an impact on the world's climate. In the aftermath of the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines in 1991....the world's average temperature dropped nearly a degree.

If this eruption lasts anywhere near that long, scientists say, there is a risk it could melt glaciers that now cap the nearby Katla volcano, allowing it to blow its top and potentially pump enough ash into the atmosphere to lower temperatures worldwide.

"When Katla went off in the 1700s, the USA suffered a very cold winter," says Gary Hufford, a scientist with the Alaska Region of the National Weather Service. "The Mississippi River froze just north of New Orleans, and the East Coast, especially New England, had an extremely cold winter. Depending on a new eruption, Katla could cause some serious weather changes."

Scientists say history has shown that whenever Eyjafjallajökull erupts, Katla follows. The only question is when.

"If it (Eyjafjallajökull) continues to belch, then you worry," Hufford says.

In order to effect climate, the ash, he says, would have to rise into the stratosphere. Some of it appears to be doing that now. And it has to carry a significant amount of sulfur. The sulfur combines in the atmosphere to create tiny particles of sulfuric acid.

"It takes a long time for those particles to settle out, typically a year or two," says Redmond. "And during that time they reflect away a little bit of the sun's energy from the earth and help cool the climate."

so far it only looks as if it will have a mild impact on the European weather this summer... (well it might be a long late spring followed by an early long autumn for them)
