Strike that- maybe Quote of the Century- at least decade!

" When I joined the military it was illegal to be a homosexual, then it became optional, and now it's legal. I'm getting out before Obama makes it mandatory."

Gunnery Sergeant Harry Barnes U. S. M. C.

Not that I,m a big fan of gay rights and certainly not marriage but what if you were going to have to have surgery and the best specialist for the job was gay, especially if it was a life or death operation? What if you were on a combat mission and they guy that was to help was gay, known to be the best, for that type of mission. Would you request someone else? It kinda reminds me about what pres. Kennedy asked, Were the foxholes in WWI and WWII marked black and white?

I cannot see where being mandatory gay has to do with getting an operation????
Nor the refernce to black and white foxholes.

What I do see the statement to mean was if I am told to be gay or get out then I chose to get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gays have served for as long as we have had a military, and some have served our country well beyond the call of duty..

and some have served their agenda.. this is happening in all walks of life, clergy and the military seem to be the lighting rod for their agenda currently

while the laws were misguided and many used them to exit the service, a few who wanted to quietly serve were prosecuted. now the prosecutions of those who disagree with gays serving with the current policy will increase rapidly, and the gay agenda will become more important to liberal politicians and lawyers then the call to duty..

under both policies we will prosecute fine soldiers who simply disagree.. like the admiral who was recently fired for a decades old humorous tape..

it will eventually die down and gays will again join to serve and those who serve with them will again learn that a few are so oversensitive that any "gay" comment will be censored and the media will forget, and it will be just like it was before politicians got involved, (expect we will not have any humor left)

in other words nothing really changed.

Just wonder Why would you ask for a different doctor if the Best Specialist happens to be gay? Could it be because you feared his/her lifestyle would put you at risk? If that is case, would you ask the new "straight" doctor if he/she could be putting you at risk due to their lifestyle IE sleeping around with numerous bed partners?

I just saying putting your trust in a "Straight" doctor could be just as risky as trusting the gay doctor if the straight doc lives a riskier lifestyle. Best not judge the book by the cover as what matters is who and how many are under the cover.

Was Sergeant Barnes being judgemental? NO!
He was just noting a moral decline in the Military during his time of service.
He was indicating that the rules that he joined under had been changed by clinton and obama, and that he would not tolerate living under the new rules. He was making a stand on principle and stating this was not for him.
I salute him for that stance!

Can a homo live a productive life and add to his comunity? -- Yes!
Does that make his sexual behavior right, and something I want to tolerate?-- NO!

Looks like he pretty much answered your question but you have to accept it and stop taking a liberal stance and refusing to see it

I thought I did! your questions were very vague and didn't give me any other options, so I answered on principles.

Yes, I believe homosexuals to be sexual deviants with a debased mindset, why would I want to put my life in their hands if their were other options?

Since this is hypothetical I will make up my own options then, as you eluded there was someone else to request.
I would choose a good Godly man of lesser reputation to perform my surgery or go on my mission! Because I know this man will not be alone when the chips are down.Because this man will not try to do this on his own power, but will call out to God for devine intervention and wisdom. Because I know that for a righteous man with God on his side nothing is impossible.

Did that answer your question?

So you would request someone else. Thanks for your answer! I hope you or your loved ones never face that situation.
