Baker Livestock Commission Shows Support with Fund-Raiser

(Baker, Mont.) – A recent fund-raiser at Baker Livestock Commission raised almost $5,000 for R-CALF USA and the Montana Cattlemen's Association (MCA), an R-CALF USA affiliate organization. Baker Livestock donated a company vest for the rollover auction.

"We were very proud to see the local ranchers and local businessmen who are realizing R-CALF is a member-driven organization that is really supporting the needs of our cattle industry," said Baker Livestock Owner Barry Ellis. "We wanted to give people the chance to support the people working for the cause."

"R-CALF has been working on the border restrictions and import standards, so it is important to support them with donations," said Ralph Rising of Wibaux. "R-CALF has been trying to protect our cattle herds from imported diseases."

"I think R-CALF is our only hope," said Harry Tronstad of Baker. "It has been taking on the issues that matter to producers.

"The turnout at the sale was better than it has been in the past," continued Tronstad. "When they have a special feeder calf or stock cow sale they have a bigger crowd for donations."

Hey, OT, how did you get that?

The list of consignors was in the paper in the sale report for Baker Livestock, but the news story hasn't made the paper yet. I just saw it in the news basket today.

Join R-CALF and they send you multi-daily e-mails on all the happenings of the cattle world- or they post almost daily press releases on their website- which is open to anyone........
Definitely worth the $50 just to get timely industry info......

Sure different from the "super secret" website and world of the NCBA  :( ...

It looks like the only press R-Calf can get now is whatever they send out themselves or post on their own web-site for the secret squirrels like Oldtimer to then post and re-post around the web.

Could it be that no one sees them as a credible source of information especially after their latest convention flop?

Bill...Could it be that no one sees them as a credible source of information especially after their latest convention flop?

Then why do you spend so much time on here putting them down if they are not credible?

Cant help it OT, we get in the neighborhood of 15 emails a day from MSGA and NCBA along with emails and alerts from ANCW, many that are FYI, not press releases biased towards any one group. There is no secret website.

Mainly to read the ridiculous crap their supporters will post and to present the facts those people choose to ignore.

I have asked this before and will ask it again, If they are so credible and such a driving source in the cattle industry where was all the media coverage on the happenings of their convention.
