Racist Propaganda

Taxpayer money wasted on meaningless gov't funded liberal research:
Conservatives more racist than liberals, says government-funded study

Mixed-race people are more likely to be considered black by conservatives, who are subconsciously attempting to “justify racial divisions,” said the authors of a new government-funded study.

The report, originally released earlier this month, has begun attracting criticism from those who see political bias in the results.

The study was conducted by graduate students and faculty in the psychology department of New York University. Researchers asked participants to look at pictures of mixed-race people and say whether they were black or white. The study found that conservatives were more likely to think of a mixed-race person as black than were liberal participants.

This relates to what social psychology researchers call the “one drop rule,” which states that people of mixed racial heritage are often lumped in whatever racial category has the lowest social standing.

“Conservatives… may maintain traditional boundaries associated with the hierarchical social order — and, as a result, they categorize multi-racial individuals according to the most socially subordinate group membership,” said an NYU press release about the study.

Seeking causes for this purported racism, the study gauged conservatives’ views by asking them whether “we should do what we can to equalize conditions for groups.” A “no” answer was indicative of a conservative who opposed equality.

The study’s authors then made the connection: conservatives want to link mixed-race people with blacks as a means of preserving historical inequities.

My memory isn't what it used to be. I swore it was the liberal party that ran the mixed race candidate the last 2 terms who claimed to be the first "black" president.

Glad there are these governmental studies to help me understand it all.

Anyone else notice how the author is self describing why one group or another chose how to organize the people attributing it to the race of the lowest social status? Hmmm So the author places people in class by race.... Interesting.

Would love to see the race break down of the study, cause surely that wouldn't have anything to do with it.

I think someone posted an article about how Hispanics see other Hispanics as black, wait maybe that's not right.

the explanation of this is really simpler then the study thought..

to make things equal... you can not do thing to equalize conditions for groups..

you can provide opportunity based on equality.. and remove barriers to those who were discriminated against...

beyond that,.. we are all created equal.. and all have the same opportunities..

some are born to rich families and have all the opportunity in the world and end up as failures..

some are born poor... and have to struggle... and yet still make it..

equalizing conditions based on race will not help the poor, ... cause not all poor are of any one race..

so if one is given help based only on race isn't the other who may have had way less opportunity because they were born poorer then discriminated against?

the most we can do is provide all children with an education and pray they take advantage of that opportunity..

I would prefer to have US all be created equal.. but then again, I started out dirt poor... and was told I wouldn't amount to much...
