It can still rain in this country...Started about 6AM and actually has been raining- not showers or drizzle...Got about 1/2 an inch so far :D ....

I would love to see this keep on for a couple of days...

Rained here most of the day yesterday, don't know how much cause we don't have the rain guage (sp?) out yet. Seeding is really going to be behind this year if the weather don't smarten up soon. It still wants to freeze every night. I hope it warms up and be sunny for Saturday, plan on branding at the best friend's.

Just talked to the North Ranch- and they've received .6 up there- both in snow and rain since 6AM...And now the weather boys are predicting this could keep up all day- and produce over an inch.... :D :D :D :D

Boy this is sure a mood changer :) Perks a guy right up....I just found out I have a daughter in the hospital about to deliver me another granddaughter... :)
Don't even feel like arguing with the Canucks-or cussing or discussing GW- or government or nothing today.....
I might just slip in to the bull sale this afternoon and stop at the waterhole and have a little toddy to celebrate  :D :D :D :D Probably have to fight my way to get a stool.....

It started raining here yesterday morning, been pretty steady since. It's funny, the grass has greened up more with rain and no sun than it did with just sun and no rain.
I had toddies on the mind yesterday, but got chased into the basement to finish building the kitchen island that I started last year. Maybe if I can finish it this afternoon I can partake in a little Crown Royal with blessings from the Mrs.

Oh, and early congrats on the new grandchild!

We must be on the edge of it cause we just have 20/100. Any little bit is welcome.

Just make sure you don't take your tagger to the hospital OT.

You might just put a tag in that new born out of habit.

No rain in months here _ we need it _ Hills are Brown

V_Key and I are on the Water District Board
We are asking the Public to "Cut Back" on water usage BUT the so called VIP from Silicon Valley with their 5 acer lawns...
They pay not head to Gas prices and/or water prices. Money is no way to stop them...

State Laws prevents SHUTTING OFF their water

We have had no rain/moisture since thanksgiving 07. We do have some good dry grass but it seems that they want to try to burn it off down here.

As for the VIP from Silicon Valley......I sugest that you get into the live trapping of prarie dogs :D You can say that due to enviromental concerns you are having to transplant them to a more liviable enviroment.

Gophers Here - A friend bought a new place in town. His brother and I caught a bucket of gophers while watering the Alfalfa and put then over the fence at his new house :D :D :D

He had a BBQ where we help catch gophers - a week later we did it again and were invited to another BBQ :D :D :D

The whole town has a smile on their face- except for a couple of city slickers that wanted to go golfing tonite  How a little moisture can change the feelings of a rural community is unbelievable...

We had an inch by the time I left for the bull sale about noon... Half way during the sale a friend of mine that was buying bulls for a neighbor received a phone call from him and told him that they had received 1.7 inchs on his pasture land near Circle and the creeks were running- and 1.2 at his house west of town and for him to "Buy More Bulls....He ended up getting 6- but actually wanted more.... :D :D

Waterhole was packed with everyone celebrating and even the tight wad equipment dealers timbering the bar  ....Dealer told me he had 22 new combines sold- just dependent on if they were going to be needed...Million dollar rain for him....

Just got home and we have 1.8 inchs of rain in the gauge- and I don't know how much wet snow sticking around the edges--ground is now white...Weather boys forecast 80% chance- and up to 2 more inchs of wet snow tonite.... :D :D

Wife reports that it doesn't sound like my new granddaughter wants to appear in this world until tomorrow when the sun is predicted to be shining and the grass growing....Don't blame her....

Definitely a BILLION dollar rain..... :D :D :D

I know the feeling Big Muddy- as I don't know how many times this spring I've watched the storms/rain come in- and then go just south of us down on the south side of the Missouri....

At least this time it tracked a little further north...

For the last couple weeks, I've been writing down tag numbers of cows that would go if we had to cull deeper...Now I can throw that note away for awhile anyway... :)

That's how we feel. Everyone around us (20 miles away) got a really good rain on tues and we didn't get a drop :x We did get a couple inches of wet snow yesterday morning though. Was 25 degrees again this morning...kinda hard for things to grow.

UPDATE-- We ended up with 1.8 on the river bottom- and 1.35 at the north place......Some areas ended up with up to 3 inchs- others got an inch or two and up to a foot of wet snow....I had to go in at noon to handle a couple of court hearings and the whole town is still pretty upbeat over the moisture.... :)

Daughter had a 7lb 9 oz baby girl named Paityn Jean about 5PM that according to Grandma is the most "beautiful baby ever"- which I won't argue with her about.... :D

Congratulations on the new granddaughter and on the rain. You are living the good life and probably "bustin' your buttons" on all accounts. Enjoy it. :)

We now have 35 degrees and are still having high winds of about forty miles per hour. We did wind up with seven tenths of an inch of very welcome rain out of the deal, so guess the "inconvenience" of the storm was worth it.
