Ran out of BEEF!!

Due to unforseen circumstances(stupidity) on my part, we ran out of beef. We used to butcher our own(and a lot of others) but that ain't my thing, so we quit.Sold all the equipment.
Anyway, I've been busy trying to scare up enough feed for the winter, rented a slug of extra hayland, etc. etc., wife has been busy with her photography business......long story short...... nobody was watching the freezer and we ran out of beef. Not hard to do around here..... when my wife barbecues hamburgers it is 3- 2lb. packs of ground beef. Me and 3 teenage boys, all 6 foot and HUNGRY.
We have been buying pork chops and chicken(yuck) and supermarket beef. None of it holds a candle to home raised. 2 more weeks and our beef will be ready(it is hanging right now).
Good thing I like fish/seafood or I would starve to death.
This only re-affirms my belief that at least SOME consumers might be willing to pay a little more for the GOOD stuff.

I saw an ad for Hebrew National weiners, Being kosher they use just the front of the beef. No if ands or BUTTS. Glad somebody eats Kosher, leaves the good stuff for the rest of us.

Some friends of ours who ran sheep in Wyoming, was over at the neighbors and were asked to "stay for dinner and eat some of your own lamb." They all laughed and stayed for dinner.

Few days later they were riding by the neighbors dump and saw the lamb
hide with THEIR BRAND ON IT. The neighbors weren't kidding when they said to stay and eat their own lamb...
