Ranch varmits

Saw one of these guys at the ranch the other day. The boys called it an "onza" but on the internet it's called a tayra. Serious-looking critter to say the least. About a yard long, including tail, and close to 20 pounds.

Looks like a mink on steroids.

Wonder if it likes chicken. :D

 The guys were bitching that one of those critters is hanging around house and eating all the hens. Tough life down here. :p

That is one giant dang weasel! Issue each chicken a .45 and hope for the best.

It's claimed on the internet that they're easy to tame. I'd be afraid the thing would kill and eat my dog. :D

I'd worry about it getting the cows!   Lets have a little test. You capture one of those super weasels and train him to ride around in the truck with you and the little dog and not eat your chickens. Then lets see the pictures. :D

The one I saw the other day was within 100 yards of where I saw another a year or two ago.....very near my largest pond. I'm wondering if they're just hunting in that area or perhaps have a den. If I could get my hands on a youngin' I'd give it a try. :D
