That is quite a set of meaty boys. Thanks for the short little tour. Appears you and the dog have things well under control. (must be a wife behind the scene making sure all is well  :) ) Doesn't look like that train has any tracks.

well they weren't in any pictures - but yes my boys are meaty.... good wrestlers too.

my little family is blessed with a great mom - we wouldn't eat all the time without her sacrifices. what a great way to bring up kids.

this picture helps explain the new chunk of corrals in the last picture

KIDSSPRINGSUMMERANDFALL2009280.jpg

the boys got home from school and i was rushed to get stuff done before it got dark and i sent my oldest boy over to start the versatille so it could warm up while my youngest boy and i unloaded the tractor and bailer.... trying to get stuff cleaned up for winter storage. i heard that old girl fire up and i knew instantly he never got it out of reverse. luckily the mower behind it jacknifed and it stalled the tractor. also luckily the tractor was in road gear or the tractor would have made an auwfull mess of twisted metal of the mower. also luckily it kinked cause he was headed backwards right over top of the 20,000 gallon underground water tank and straight through that old white barn. plum lucky. me and the boys dug new post holes for that new fence and wouldn't ya know we hit the main underground power line that goes to all the outbuildings - we spent more time fixing it than the fence.

If a 4H judge mentions a line backed steer in a finished beef class I think he'd be judging with one eye swollen shut. We had one gunsel expound on the breed character in a steers head. It's all about what's under the hide-your calves look good too.

i've got an 835 also. i think its an 1982 with about 7000 hours. its been a very good machine, and pretty easy on fuel. thats the part i like the most.

you don't see too many of those around. great tractor, it was new in 1984 and been overhauled at 10,000. radio works, air works.... done alot of thinking on it.

You also have the right kind of cattle 76. I was reading your website last night and was intrigued with your personal performance test on your h/c, that would definately weed out the poor doers.

Be careful with those kids and iron, we had our share of incidents that we would rather not remember.

Those are some of the thickest looking Herefords I have ever seen 76. Impressive set of bulls.

I've always wanted to ask are you the same big swede i've seen on numerous email chains from sd/kansas hereford breeders.... krauss, dvorak, moon?

thanks for the comments also

Animals look great as usual 76. That 835 looks like it just rolled off the lot.

i wouldn't trade it for a new JD - on second thought maybe a brand new 7930 with duals on all four and a loader. what do you think they'd give a guy for that 835 on trade..... do you think it would be under 100K difference.
