Am I the only person happy as hell that rcalf hasn't been administering the checkoff funds? These rcalf brainiacs are all high in the bridal that the NCBA may be getting some imagined spinnoff benefit from their ties to the checkoff administration while ignoring rcalf's accounting (generous description).

With the state of rcalf accounting, how the hell can a rcalf contribution be tax deductible? Any monies spent in those rollover auctions would be fraudulently deducted as a business expense, but that'll be our own dirty little secret.

NCBA seems to somehow get their name in every article that comes out on the checkoff - what's that publicity worth?

??????What's THIS got to do with the price of eggs??????

You R-Calfers have constantly accused NCBA of illegal use of checkoff funds. You go to a CBB meeting. Go to your state Beef Council meeting. You JUST MIGHT learn something.

IF it passes to allow other organizations access to checkoff funds, I for one am glad R-Calf is gone because they don't have/haven't had any accountability to their members. In order access to checkoff funds, every penny has to be accounted for. For some reason I can't get that idea inserted into R-Calf's collective brain :?

Keep hammering away on those facts, Hanta Yo!

It is difficult when some people simply do not WANT it to be true, you know.

Johnny Smith undoubtedly has been shown many times the system which separates the Policy/Dues division of NCBA from the Federation of State Beef Councils division. The Federation clearly is the entity contracting with the CBB, and the Policy/Dues div. is NOT.

Yet, as he does nearly every week, last Saturday, he was hounding producers who listen to his weekly radio "market report" with the lies that "NCBA is using your checkoff money against you" claiming NCBA is pushing USDA to open the Canadian border so the price of US cull cows will drop.

Could the bit you posted from the R-CALF minutes where the same Johnny Smith stated "undertaking new or different litigation MAY HELP RAISE FUNDS have something to do with those rants of his on radio? Keeping the 'locals' stirred up and believing R-CALF is going to do something, no matter how ill advised it is for the cattle/beef industry, seems to get a lot of 'blood' out of some real 'turnips' out in LMA country!
