Sebelius: Some Could See Insurance Premiums Rise

The Society of Actuaries, a nonpartisan professional association, has issued a new report warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place, as more people with higher medical needs get coverage, and that the impact will be very different depending on the state. Medical bills are another key factor in determining premiums.

If you didn't see it coming then you weren't looking as about everyone said that for the initial first years there would be no savings and/or a raise in costs to some... In fact the testimony on the bill said that the country would not start recognizing savings until the law had been in effect for approximately 10 years-- when the benefits of preventive care and early diagnosis on more people started lowering the costs...
But as Orrin Hatch has said so many times- at the rate healthcare costs were raising in comparison to GDP it was negatively impacting our economy and could be the economic downfall if nothing was done... Costs for US now is 17.6 percent of GDP. The Netherlands is the next highest, at 12 percent of GDP, and the average among OECD countries was almost half that of the U.S., at 9.5 percent of GDP... In dollar values- The U.S. spent $8,233 on health per person in 2010. Norway, the Netherlands and Switzerland are the next highest spenders, but in the same year, they all spent at least $3,000 less per person. The average spending on health care among the other 33 developed OECD countries was $3,268 per person.

“I will sign a universal health care bill into law by the end of my first term as president that will cover every American and cut the cost of a typical family’s premium by up to $2,500 a year.”

“The other thing we’ve done is to say, what are the critical needs of small business? A lot of time, one of the biggest challenges is to make sure that you, as a sole proprietor, that you can get health insurance for you and your family. So when you hear about the Affordable Care Act — Obamacare — and I don’t mind the name because I really do care. That’s why we passed it. You should know that once we have fully implemented, you’re going to be able to buy insurance through a pool so that you can get the same good rates as a group that if you’re an employee at a big company you can get right now — which means your premiums will go down.”

And then your "to some" comment Oldtimer

Reports emerging on Tuesday reveal that as part of the President's health care law, a new $63 fee will be issued for everyone already covered in order to help cover the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions.

Your "to some" is the entire working class Oldtimer.

First Obama campaigned on not signing a bill that would not raise ANYONE making under $250 G taxes then he hides thousands of dollars worth of new TAXES in a healthcare bill that will knownly skyrocket US Health insurance Premiums because there were no limits to what an insurance agency could charge for all those pre-existing condition insurees.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times the Dems claimed the Republicans were lying about the affects of Obamacare on the voter pocketbook and you are now trying to tell us anyone paying attention should have known.

I guess this is why air head Pelosi said you have to pass the bill to see what is in it. She knew d*mn well that if the voters knew the truth the dislike for it would be far more than 54%. Obama knew he could not allow this horrid mess to be implemented before he faced the voters again as once they faced the new taxes, fees and insurance premium hikes they were going to revolt. All the perks before the 2012 election, all the tax hikes after when he doesn't have to worry about the voters any longer. Be proud of your hero Oldtimer, he screwed the US voters and you defend everything the lying corrupt golf playing fool does.

Those words of wisdom were brought to you by the same fellow who said this in July of 2009:

The Jobs/Stimulus bill is not even 6 months into what is a 2 year plan...Many of the local jobs just started because of weather- others are held up because the factories can't get geared up fast enough to make the steel needed....

You don't just go from a country on the brink of oblivion (where Bush had taken us) to a full blown booming economy overnight.....

Talk to me about it 2 years down the line...
