A demonstration of different available squeeze chutes. This is always a crowd pleaser, though not really anything to learn proper cattle handling procedures. The crew works fast and furious, and the cattle all get on the fight. Some of the highest priced chutes have a way of malfunctioning due to operator error, but that is what makes the deal fun.

Eenie meenie miney moe. One unsuspecting lady did get knocked down when a thousand pound yearling ran over the top of her. Fortunately she jumped to her feet, unhurt.
Peach Blossom and the Kosmo Kid, when they left last Friday morning. They have spent the week in Mississippi, on a youth group mission trip, doing Hurricane Katrina relief work. It has been an eye-opening experience for both of them, and for the other members of the local delegation. They are scheduled to start back home tomorrow morning, and hopefully be all the way back by Saturday night. I'm anxious to hear of their adventures. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I've managed to galavant quite a bit this week, and have really not had to do much cooking.
