Enjoyed a beautiful White Christmas, until the wind started blowin'.
Here's a few photos of the lane from my house out to the county road.

My hay trailer became one with the drift. After plowing out each side with the tractor, it was time to break out the shovel and dig out from under it. No way just to pull it out, the snow was set like concrete and completely packed around the brakes.

Here a coming 2 year old Charolais Bull. I had just plowed a few strips for 'em, didn't take him long to find some bear ground.

and lastly some snowy mountain photos at sunset.

Oh, that's easy. Just honk the horn on the feed truck and they appear out of the thin air.

Thanks for the pics. Some nice country over there. What range is that high one, San Juans? The range in the first shot must be La Garitas? Been Cold? One year I had my PU and gooseneck burried (all I could make out in that drift was one little black spot that was the top of a backup lite on the headache rack) that took 3 days of digging to get it out after the sun had worked on the snow for a few days. Like you say that was like concrete.

These photos are of the west side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Didn't realize you were that close to the Sangre's. I pictured you farther to the west side of the valley.

Yep, the Sangre's are right in my back yard. If there was a tunnel under the mountains, It'd be only about 10 miles or so to Ned Jr.'s place on the Wet Mountain side, but by highway miles it's closer to 90 miles.

Thanks Nicky, and to all for your compliments.

Blkbuckaroo, I can feel your pain  ....after shoveling around the axles, I found all my brakes were frozen. The sun had melted just enough of the snow to run some liquid down around the linings to freeze them in. Fortunately, it wasn't to hard to get them unfroze and was able to put about a 1,000 miles behind be late last week, although the first 100 miles or so I left a trail of snow. :)

Nice photos. Thanks, now I know what it looks like on the other side. :D Are you close to the Baca ranch?

I'm located about 10 miles North of the Baca. The first sunset photo, the highest peak on the left is Cottonwood.
