Recoil!

If that don't give you a flinch nothing will

Reminds me of a story an old outfitter told me about the 8 gauge double rifle with about 18 inch barrels he used to pack as a back up to Grizzly's or Kodiaks-- if you hit them they were dead, but if the second barrel triggered from the recoil like it occasionally did- you wished you were..

What kind of a gun is that?

.577 T-Rex/Custom built "A-Square", I believe.

shoots a 750 grain bullet at about 2200-2600 FPS.

That's a whopping 10,000 ft lbs of ENERGY!

The stock was fitted with 3 mercury recoil supressors!

Cartridge case holds about 180 grains of powder.......................

Did you guys notice that it looks like atleast 2 different guns?

One looks like a ruger #1 and the other a bolt action. I only watched it once but that's what i thought i saw.

The guys who made the video are avid reloaders and big game hunters. They probably have a hundred different guns that have the recoil that these do.

Check it out: http://www.accuratereloading.com/

The picture on the front page is the shooting tunnel they are shooting in.

I calculated the "Recoil Energy" of this gun and cartridge.

It came out to 130 Foot Pounds of Energy at 26 Feet Per Second!

The problem is why would they build such a gun with that short of a barrel, in that weight of barrel and over all weight? I would think like the 50 cal BMG they would wan't some serious weight of the gun to handle recoil much better and flinch would be a serious concern with that gun in that barrel and stock configuration, 1 shot and "most" would be a flincher for along time!

I would have made it a heavy barrel with 28"-32" of length and went with a bigger stock and one that offered much more weight, also for accuracy sound would be much louder, but a muzzle break would be mandatory for great accuracy.
