red sky morning

My dad always said "red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky in the morning sailor take warning", guess he got it from his dad who was a sailor in the war. If so looks like a very windy day here on the plains today.

EP, I believe you are correct on all counts! Although it's so cloudy here I can't tell if the sky is red or not :D  I was out about daylight to put corn/DDG in the bunks for the calves and it was perfectly calm. Wind is starting to come up a bit now. Was about 35 degrees at daylight A very tropical 43 degrees now so it must be a chinook wind coming through.

Well Empty Pockets- sometime during the night it started Chinooking up here-- 15-45 mph NW winds, and the temp was up to 45 for awhile- altho its dropping a little now...Hard to believe after last weeks 40+ Below chill factors  - but this is the Great American Desert, so anything can happen....

Bad news is today all the snow is melting - but it won't get it all- and its supposed to drop to 9 tonite with only a high in the teens so we'll be having ice all over again...There goes my chiropracter bill up...
