remembering the lost

with the the Oklahoma City bombing,waco,911,and other contastrophies ..with cancer and car wrecks and other accidents
now with more earthquakes and volcanoes and sunomies,,we lost 2 more this week.one was a WW2 Veteran and the other a youth.she was 16 yrs old,and died in a car accident.

i have lost all my grandparents,2 father-inlaws and my father.none of these deaths have hurt me as bad as losing my first born.i hate it when we lose a youth.another thing i am trying to understand about life.with wars and fighting.i'm gitt'n down to the bottom of my poem archives and the rest are probably a little mushy.i'll have to come up with some new ones.but this one is in remembrance of the daughter i lost.

she was a beautiful baby---we named her shannon shavonne
i didn't know then--how it would change my life from that day on
the good Lord called her home---the day she was born
and I cried as my heart ---was shattered and torn

the little girl things & the smile on her face---i sometimes miss
the special hugs for daddy---and her soft little kiss
but with our salvation thru Jesus Christ---we will meet again someday
along the road to Heavens Way

on that glorious day---there may be a short laugh or a cry
but till then,I love you Shannon---take care,good-bye

What a beautiful and touching masterpiece! I am not ashamed to tell you the tears are flowing. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. I have not lost a child and can't even imagine the heartache that would stay with a parent. But as a Father myself it still hurts to even think about it. I hope am make it to heaven and witness the reunion between a Dad and his little girl. Thanks again Balestabber. Wow.
