Repeal fails in Senate

Tam

Well-known member
The majority of voters 56% want the healthcare bill repealed, The Courts say it is void as it is unconstitutional in 27 states and the vote goes right down party lines on the repeal. Are the Dems listening or are they still thinking they are smarter than those that put them in office and not giving a da*n about what the Constitution says.

Everyone needs to remember this vote come 2012.

By Judge Vinson's opinion, if the bill is implemented in any of the 26 states that were involved, the Feds. are in contempt.

Lead counsel was on Mark Levin yesterday and explained it all.

This should serve as a good hard dose of reality to those who look through rose-colored glasses and glibly proclaim, "Don't vote for the party, vote for the person." Guess what? When the chips are down the Republicans hang together and the Democrats hang together. Nebraska's own Ben Nelson is a glaring example. What a traitor to the people of this great state he turned out to be. He is no more following the will of his constituents than the man in the moon. I still deeply resent both the NRA (National Rifle Association) and the NFIB (National Federation of Indepenent Businesses) for endorsing this clown. He is definitely not voting for what would be their best interests.

Let not your heart be troubled, Soap. For years Ben was known as the biggest crook that ever came from Red Willow county. Somehow I have a feeling in 2012 Ben will be unemployed and looking for work. (FYI, I can barely stomach Johanns, but he doesn't puke me out like Ben does.)

I'm so UNPROUD of Montana's senators. Of course, being (D) they
both voted nay. Wyoming,(R) both voted yea; in ND and SD, (D's) voted nay and (R's) voted yea.

I'm with Soapweed. You can't vote for the person and know
that he will stand AGAINST his party, for the best interests
of the country.

When so many have voiced their dislike to the Healthcare bill and after the Dems took a historical hit in 2010, one has to wonder what is being held over the Dem Senators to keep them under control and voting to keep a bill they have to know is going to cost them their seats when they hit the election cycle. And WHO IS HOLDING IT :?

If Obama is not scared of what will happen to his bill when it hits the Supreme Court I have to wonder why he just doesn't ask to fast track the bill as everyone knows it is only a matter of time before it gets there anyway. Is he hoping by holding off as long as possible they will have so much invested into the bill that the Supreme Court will rule in his favor so the funds don't go to waste?

Anybody that voted against repeal have now been exposed as not respecting the courts or the Constitution.

AND not respecting the will of the majority of voters that wanted the bill repealed.

This is exactly why the Republicans forced a vote as they wanted the Dems ON RECORD. The Dems have no deniability to hide behind. They have to step up and defend their support now that the voters have clearing told them they didn't want their plan and they voted to keep it. As Obama would say now the voters know who's azzes to kick.
