Let's see now, in the House, Tom DeLay's PAC is charged, at the White House Carl Rove is being investigated for outing CIA agents, and now Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is under investigation, too. Wow! Republicans have outdone themselves this time! Link below; my emphais.

"Blind trusts are designed to keep an arm's-length distance between federal officials and their investments, to avoid conflicts of interest. But documents show that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist knew quite a bit about his accounts from nearly two dozen letters from the trust administrators.

Frist, R-Tenn., received regular updates of transfers of assets to his blind trusts and sales of assets. He also was able to initiate a stock sale of a hospital chain founded by his family with perfect timing. Shortly after the sale this summer, the stock price dived.

A possible presidential contender in 2008, Frist now faces dual investigations by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York and the Securities and Exchange Commission into his stock sales."

In another string, Liberty Belle, calls Bush a "moral' person. Pretty easy when you can let others do your dirty work and sheepishly smile to the public.

Yes, it's pretty funny how it's apparently morally acceptable to her for Bush to lie and send young men and women off to die.

You two better quit smoking that weed. It has greatly affected your thought processes and your reasoning skills.

What is your definition of moral anyway? And who fits your definition? Clinton? Kofi Annan? Louis Farrakhan? Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton? Who? Why don't you tell us who your role models are and we can take this discussion from there.

By the way dis, you seem to be ignoring some of our posts about the FOX ratings. Why, I wonder?

Liberty Belle you forgot Micheal Mooron, Hanoi Jane, Ted, I was just going for help kennedy,,,

As for Tom Delay,,,,
if The facts back up the allegations he will be tried convicted, and sentenced,,,seems to me that the prosocuter will bring false allegations to trial without real proof because he can, Based on the presented opinions it seems that many politicians considered him a rival before the indictments they were charged with dispite party affiliations ( thus him using his job to punish his enemies,,,,looking at some of his "convictions" or aquitals, it seems that facts are of little concern to him,,,

Ronnie Earle, the Democratic District Attorney in Travis County, Texas, is a notorious partisan who has a history of bringing politically-motivated indictments. His most infamous indictment was when he charged Kay Bailey Hutchison, then the Treasurer of Texas, with assault. Earle actually took this trumped-up case to trial, only to be humiliated when he had to dismisss the case during trial

So forget whether or not if there's any substance to the charges and accusations, you don't need something as messy as actual evidence to condemn DeLay. He is a republican so he must be guilty, thats the liberal line...

so far to my Web research it shows several political indictments credited to Earl, I found 8 democratic convictions and one democrat aquital,? and 3 republican convictions ( two of which were a state school board the met for lunch and it was a misdemeaner violation of the open meetings act), and one republican aquital?

so far I KNOW at least the indictment of Kay Bailey Hutchison was a total farce by even the liberal medias standards,,,so as ussual the truth will prevail,,,

Jim Mattox, who was acquitted of charges brought by Earle, said, "You might question his competence as district attorney, but I don't think you could question his motivations as being overly partisan about the matter." [8] Mattox nevertheless questioned the political motives of Earle's case, stating "Ronnie Earle had visions of grandeur. He was using it as a steppingstone.

The Wall Street Journal accuses Earle of having "a history of indicting political enemies, Democrat and Republican, on flimsy evidence that didn't hold up in court."

Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle (Democrat - 1982) - Earle once brought charges against himself, secured a conviction, and paid a $200 fine after his campaign failed to file required campaign finance reports

 You'll believe almost anything, won't you, Steve. Did you see the post about the Army officially missing their recruitment quota for the year? I've been saying that for weeks, but you've been in denial.

Ronnie Earle is not what Delay claims. People in his district know that. A March 6 article in the El Paso Times reported: "Earle says local prosecution is fundamental and points out that 11 of the 15 politicians he has prosecuted over the years were Democrats."

Delay is out of the House for an extended period of time. He may be vindicated, who knows? That's why we have trials. But the saddest thing (as far as the Republican leadership is concerned) is that they replaced him with another member who also has ties to an indicted lobbyist. That's pretty tough for some long time Republicans to swallow.

My definition of "moral" doesn't include anyone who would, knowingly, send young men and women off to die for his personal vendetta. And that's what Bush has done.

So keep on ranting, America is waking up to the Bush Bunch's incompetence.

As for FOX ratings, I said, if NewsMax says it, it must be true. Have I missed your report on Athena Pheromones. So do you really and truly get more romance when you use them? NewsMax has scientifically proven formulas for men and women. Right there on NewsMax!

And let's not forget HAIR LOSS!! Right there at NewsMax!

Dis - you'll never know till you try them yourself, cuz I'll never tell!!

While we are on the subject of Republican leadership, I will share this that I got from an old friend in Texas. The same message was repeated by our relative in the flooded area in Louisiana who evacuated to Texas during Hurricane Katrina:

Things I have noticed while watching media coverage of the recent hurricanes.

1. Texas: Productive industrious state run by Republicans.

Louisiana: Government dependent welfare state run by Democrats.

2. Texas: Residents take responsibility to protect and evacuate themselves.

Louisiana: Residents wait for government to protect and evacuate them.

3. Texas: Local and state officials take responsibility for protecting their citizens and property.

Louisiana: Local and state officials blame federal government for not protecting their citizens and property.

4. Texas: Command and control remains in place to preserve order.

Louisiana: Command and control collapses allowing lawlessness.

5. Texas: Law enforcement officers remain on duty to protect city.

Louisiana: Law enforcement officers desert their posts to protect themselves.

6. Texas: Local police watch for looting.

Louisiana: Local police participate in looting.

7. Texas: Law and order remains in control, 8 looters tried it, 8 looters arrested.

Louisiana: Anarchy and lawlessness breaks out, looters take over city, no arrests, criminals with guns have to be shot by federal troops.

8. Texas: Considerable damage caused by hurricane.

Louisiana: Considerable damage caused by looters.

9. Texas: Flood barriers hold preventing cities from flooding.

Louisiana: Flood barriers fail due to lack of maintenance allowing city to flood.

10. Texas: Orderly evacuation away from threatened areas, few remain.

Louisiana: 25,000 fail to evacuate, are relocated to another flooded area.

11. Texas: Citizens evacuate with personal 3 day supply of food and water.

Louisiana: Citizens fail to evacuate with 3 day supply of food and water, do without it for the next 4 days.

12. Texas: FEMA brings in tons of food and water for evacuees. State officials provide accessible distribution points.

Louisiana: FEMA brings in tons of food and water for evacuees. State officials prevent citizens from reaching distribution points and vice versa.

13. Louisiana: Media focuses on poor blacks in need of assistance, blames Bush.

Texas: Media can't find poor blacks in need of assistance, looking for something else to blame on Bush.

14. Texas: Coastal cities suffer some infrastructure damage, Mayors tell residents to stay away until ready for repopulation, no interference from federal officials.

Louisiana: New Orleans is destroyed, Mayor asks residents to return home as another hurricane approaches, has to be overruled by federal officials.

15. Louisiana: Over 900 killed by storm, flooding and crime.

Texas: 24 killed in bus accident on highway during evacuation, no storm related deaths.

16. Texas: Jailed prisoners are relocated to other detention facilities outside the storm area.

Louisiana: Jailed prisoners are set free to prey on city shops, residents, and homes.

17. Texas: Local and state officials work with FEMA and Red Cross in recovery operations.

Louisiana: Local and state officials obstruct FEMA and Red Cross from aiding in recovery operations.

18. Texas: Local and state officials demonstrate leadership in managing disaster areas.

Louisiana: Local and state officials fail to demonstrate leadership, require federal government to manage disaster areas.

19. Texas: Fuel deliveries can't keep up with demand, some run out of gas on highway, need help from fuel tankers before storm arrives.

Louisiana: Motorists wait till storm hits and electrical power fails. Cars run out of gas at gas stations that can't pump gas. Gas in underground tanks mixes with flood waters.

20. Texas: Mayors move citizens out of danger.

Louisiana: Mayor moves himself and family to Dallas.

21. Texas: Mayors continue public service announcements and updates on television with Governor's backing and support.

Louisiana: Mayor cusses, governor cries, senator threatens president with violence on television, none of them have a clue what went wrong or

who's responsible.

22. Louisiana: Democratic Senator says FEMA was slow in responding to 911 calls from Louisiana citizens.

Texas: Republican Senator says "when you call 911, the phone doesn't ring in Washington, it rings here at the local responders". What if state and local elected officials were forced to depend on themselves and their own resources instead of calling for help from the federal government? Texas cities would be back up and running in a few days. Louisiana cities would still be under water next month. Republicans call for action, Democrats call for help. What party will you be voting for in the next election?

Did this old friend also tell you about the library and porn? Believe me with friends like that, you don't need any enemies.

In these days of Nintendo, internet @ home, etc....you can't pay kids to go the library!!

Huh? I told you to lay off that weed. What does this off-the-wall statement have to do with the topic of conversation? Or are you just trying, in your foggy, drug induced state, to change the subject because it has become too uncomfortable?

For starters, Republicans only took over the State House in Texas in 2002. That's when Tom Delay and his group illegally took money from corporations and funneled it back to Republican candidates running for office in Texas. So to say "Texas: Productive industrious state run by Republicans" is laughable. Most of your post is arrogant, ignorant and racist. I won't bother with it.

If you're so big on accountablity, why aren't you asking George W. Bush to admit his excuse for attacking Iraq was a lie?

You seem to think that people in Louisiana don't deserve to get any assistance from FEMA during and after Katrina they didn't take care of themselves. The Shiites in Iraq outnumber the Sunnis by a huge margin. Why should we be spending over a $billion a week to free them from Saddam? Shouldn't they be accountable for their own actions?

Dear, sweet dis, Republicans are running Texas NOW, and they were running Texas when the hurricanes hit. Liberal Democrats were, and still are, running Louisiana.

Most of your post is arrogant, ignorant and racist. I won't bother with it.

Really? Post a few "for instances" will you? I must have missed them.

As for DeLay, if he's guilty of doing something illegal, and I might remind you that so far he is considered BY LAW to be innocent until proven otherwise, I'm all for throwing him in jail, along with all other law breakers of any race, creed or political party. Were you as eager to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy accountable for their crimes or is it just Republican crime that bothers you?

Seriously, I'm worried that your train of thought has jumped the tracks. Didn't LSD go out of style?

Which if you look at the Indictments you would see that Democrats are more currupt the republicans,,

of the four republicans one Kay Bailey Hutchison, case was dismissed and two of the other republicans, were from the State Board of Education that met for lunch,,,( which is unfortunatly a violation of the open meeting act) ,,Now that is one currupt bunch of republicans,,, one dismissed case, for lack of evidence and two hungry school board members who decided to have lunch togeather,,,

so the Dems by your own standard are by far more currupt.........but we never hear that from you, just about the as yet untried case of one republican, ,,,,,,

By Ronnie Earle's score card it looks like the score is 11 currupt Dems , to 1, and even if we use your liberal left guilty, because he is a republican law with the current case, the score would only be 11 currupt Dems to 2 republicans...

now would you like to compare Clinton's score to Bush's

Good spin, Steve. But the discussion is about Ronnie Earle. Delay has claimed this is a partisan prosecution. It's obviously not because Earle has charged more Democrat politicans than Republicans in his tenure. So keep spinning, but the truth is out there. Tom Delay, Republican House Majority Leader, is a liar. He's the first member of either party leadership to be indicted. He claimed that he didn't get a chance to testify before the Grand Jury. The GJ Foreman said they invited Delay; Delay's own attorney said he had an opportunity to testify. Delay is a liar. If that makes you proud, go ahead and defend him.

If that makes you proud, go ahead and defend him

While I did not defend him (thats his lawyers job) I was just pointing out some facts you ignored, when you called republicans currupt, that most of Earle's convictions were from democrats, thus Democrats are more currupt, and that of the four republican prosocutions one was dismissed ( political witch hunt) and two were convicted of having lunch togeather (not a real big crime spree, or even currupt by most persons standards)....

In fact you would read that most of my articles I have presented in reply to this thread, show what a hypocrit you are by ignoreing the clinton scandles and the fact the Earle himself is a corrrupt democrat that has been convicted of election crimes himself,,,,

so keep spinning,,By the way Will you apologise if he if aqquited?????

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is a great illustration of the difference between Democratic leadership in Louisiana and Republican leadership in Texas.
