Republican Senate Majority Leader

Bill Frist is the gift that just keeps on giving. Wasn't he the top pick for a Republican '08 Presidential candidate? And I see he's still under FEC investigation.

"Majority Leader Bill Frist hasn’t been following all the Senate’s rules when it comes to disclosing details about his finances.

Frist and his wife are the sole trustees in charge of a family foundation bearing the senator’s name, according to Internal Revenue Service forms. However, he has not been listing that position on his Senate disclosure forms, which are made public every year.

Dis, you left out the "meat":

"Frist and his siblings are vice presidents of another charitable foundation bearing their parents’ names. Frist also failed to list his position with that foundation on his Senate disclosure form, and his staff said that would be amended as well.

He has disclosed on a Senate form his board position with World of Hope, a charity that gives money to causes associated with AIDS but which has come under scrutiny for paying consulting fees to members of his political inner circle."

Dis, if you are so interested in cleaning up the political mess, why don't you go ahead and pull out the dirt on some Democrats who are just as bad?

These problems will not go away when people can easily be put into a poltical affiliation instead of focusing on the problems of individual politicians who have sold out the public interests for their own benefit.

They are not just republican or democrat problems, although at this time the republicans are running the boards with their power in Congress and lack of oversight hearings to get to the bottom of these messes.

Please show this isn't just partisan politics by posting something on a democrat, Dis.

Who said I was interested in cleaning up the politicial mess? Cal, Mike, Steve, etc., will be glad to point out the dirty Dems. My goal on this board is to show how bad the Iraqi war is, how it has damaged our military, and how George W. Bush lied to get us into it. Corruption in our government will be taken care of by the voters....or not. I could even accept corruption if we had competent people running things. Ronald Reagan wasn't the brightest bulb in the room, but he hired the best and the brightest. Bush, on the other hand, doesn't hire anyone smarter than him and you know where that leads. One that may not fit that mold is the new Sec Treasury. I've been pulling money out of the market. If Bush hired someone competent, I think we may be in for a serious financial fall.

Agree completely. But the Republicans have taken partisan politics to a new level. There was a time when our politicans truly held the interests of this country at heart. I don't believe that's true today. Today they're selling us out to big business.

They are not just republican or democrat problems, although at this time the republicans are running the boards with their power in Congress and lack of oversight hearings to get to the bottom of these messes.

The Republicans have refused to let the Dems participate in our government. The House especially has been a rubber stamp for whatever Bush wanted. He has been allowed to infringe on my rights. I'm very angry about that. I do think we'll have new leadership in the House and the Senate next year, whoever wins the election. Frist, of course, isn't running for re-election. But I think we'll also have someone new in the House. There are many Republicans who are unhappy with Hastrett and, since DeLay is gone, I'm hopeful for a kinder, gentler House. Though DeLay's replacement is likely as corrupt as DeLay, with the seats the Dems will pick up, I hope and think there will be a big change in the atmosphere there.

Not likely. I've always considered myself independent. But this disaster called George W. Bush has probably driven me to doing something I've never done before. I'll have to see the ballot in November, but right now I think there's a good chance that for the first time in my life, I'll check the Democratic Box and vote the party line. With the corruption and incompetence the Republicans have allowed, I don't see any way to fix it except by replacing them and there's no alternative but Dems.

But feel free to jump out there with corrupt Dems. It won't bother me and I'll probably be able to come up with a Republican to match your Dem.
