About Republicans for Obama

Republicans for Obama is a grassroots organization of proud party members who all share one important trait— we are Americans first and Republicans second. (Even if it is a close second.) Founded in late 2006 as part of the nationwide effort to encourage Senator Obama to run for the Presidency, our volunteer-run, grassroots group now includes over 2000 registered members from across the nation.

Collectively, we have campaigned, worked for, and voted Republican all our lives, but recognize that our Country needs a new kind of leader at this time. While there will always be important issues on which thoughtful Americans will disagree, there are others that cannot be up for debate— our economic prosperity and our standing in the world.

Senator Obama has rejected the politics of division and the win-at-all-costs attitude that has hurt our ability to move forward as a nation. While we as Republicans will not always see eye to eye with a President Obama, we know that his politics of competency and unity will lead to a stronger America.

I was listening to the head of the Blue Dog Coalition today on Tv- who said he opposes some of Obamas policies which he thinks will be costly, but will support him because Obama is a strong advocate of the PayGo plan rather than the Spend and Borrow of the Republicans/Bush/McSame which has bankrupt the country and lead to our children and grandchildren unborn being stuck with tremendous debt...
During his talk he commented that Obama was bringing in the praise of many Republican backers because of his support of PayGo- and many that do not believe in the Bush/McCain foreign policy, including Ron Paul....

So I googled around and found that site above which is saying that Ron Paul has or will endorse Obama....
Has anyone heard or seen anything about a Paul endorsement of Obama? I know many of Pauls former supporters on the blogs are supporting it...

This was all I could find.....

Having a Republican win the upcoming presidential election is “secondary” for Paul who is more interested in defending the Constitution, having the country go in what he considers the right direction, having a sound currency, and achieving balanced budgets. Paul parts ways with McCain over McCain’s support for the Iraq war, his approach to U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and his willingness to spend federal dollars to support military operations in Iraq.

Instead, Paul favors Sen. Barack Obama because of positions on foreign policy. “But that’s doesn’t mean that’s an endorsement,” Paul quickly added.

Paul recently released a new book titled “The Revolution: a Manifesto.” “Unfortunately, it is revolutionary to talk about obeying the Constitution,” Paul said of the book’s title.
