Republicans Drop Voter Registration Company that May Have Committed Fraud

In 2008, an organization called ACORN registered a million low-income voters, some of whom were nonexistent. The Republicans screamed about this even though none of the nonexistent voters actually voted. The problem was the minimum-wage workers who were paid per voter they registered, so some of them made up false names.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. The Republican Party hired a Virginia firm, Strategic Allied Consulting, to do voter registration in four swing states (Virginia, Nevada, Colorado, and North Carolina), and now it is being accused of precisely the same thing as ACORN was: fraudulent voter registration. The scandal was uncovered by the Palm Beach, FL, County Elections Supervisor who flagged 106 questionable registration applications bearing similar signatures and incorrect addresses.

Republicans dump voter registration firm after fraud reports

MIAMI | Sat Sep 29, 2012 12:28am EDT

MIAMI (Reuters) - Election officials in Florida were scouring their records for fraudulent voter registration forms on Friday after the Republican Party said it had fired a company hired to gather new voters because of reports its employees may have submitted bogus forms.
The Palm Beach County elections office first reported finding 106 potentially fraudulent registration forms earlier this week that had been submitted by Strategic Allied Consulting (SAC), a Virginia firm hired by Florida's Republican Party.

Since then scores more suspicious forms have been detected in at least five other Florida counties where election officials say SAC worked to register voters.

Federal Election Commission reports from the state Republican Party show it paid SAC more than $1.3 million this summer for voter registration services.

SAC was also hired to do voter registration work for the Republican Party in four other key swing states - Nevada, Virginia, Colorado, and North Carolina - for a total of $2.9 million, according to the Republican National Committee (RNC).

If I remember right- wasn't several of the ACORN employees doing it not only fired but charged criminally and some convicted of supplying false info ?

Whenever you contract any group that hires minimum wage workers and pays them by the number of voters they register- you can expect fraud....

ACORN wasn't just involved in voter registration fraud, there was a lot of
other things that brought them down. If you watched FOX News you would
know about that. :!: Actually it wasn't even professional reporters that
busted them, but some young people who were interested in what was
happening.

And isn't ACORN alive and well  under a different name? :x

Typical leftwingernuts.
They are in the mode to try and blow up any voter irregulaities, esp if it is a Rep. Heck before it is over they will bring out even the dem iregularities. After all obama might need all the problems in voting so has an excuse to suspend the election. The farther he sinks before election day the more it will happen.

on Friday after the Republican Party said it had fired a company hired to gather new voters because of reports its employees may have submitted bogus forms.

While it would be nice to prevent it before it happens,.. sometimes it happens...

the company was exposed, fired and the government of the areas affected warmed.. isn't that how fraud is supposed to be dealt with.. ?

from the company..

Our company has recently come under scrutiny because the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections found approximately 20 suspicious cards that had been turned into her office through a project our company managed. Due to our quality control measures, we were able to identify that the cards in question were all the work of one individual. We then gathered copies of the other 86 cards this gentleman had collected and turned those over to them as well.

The reason we have quality control measures in place is because we recognize that with projects this large, there will be isolated incidents of individuals trying to cheat the system.
We are aware of questionable cards in a few additional counties. In the three counties where we know the details, each county is limited to one individual.

When the Republican Party of Florida chose to make likely libelous comments about our effort and stated that the Republican National Committee suggested us as the vendor, the RNC was put in the unenviable position of ending a long-term relationship for the sake of staying focused on the election.

I would say for all practical purposes... they are now out of the voter registration business.. because no conservative organization would hire them....

“We’ve made it clear we’re not doing business with these guys anymore,” RNC spokesman Sean Spicer told NBC’s Michael Isikoff. “We’ve come out pretty strong against this kind of stuff — and we have zero tolerance for this.”

well maybe a zero tolerance isn't really the right words to use.. :?

Sproul told the Times he formed Strategic Allied Consulting at the request of the RNC for publicity’s sake, given past negative media coverage of Lincoln stemming from past allegations going back to 2004, when employees in Nevada and Oregon signed up Democrats but threw out their forms instead of turning them in.

Sproul has also been linked to signature fraud this election cycle in his home state of Arizona where he was working on a ballot initiative that would allow the state to nullify any federal laws it finds to be unconstitutional.

with a little research.... it turns out the guy has a history of leading corporations that have been linked to voter registration scandals..

seems the party elite have a bit of explainin to do...

or this guy is trying to cover his arse....

Yes DOZENS of their employees were acused BUT ACORN THEMSELVES PLEAD GUILTY TO VOTER FRAUD OLDTIMER.

The defunct political advocacy group ACORN has pleaded guilty to one count of an election law violation in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ACORN attorney Lisa Rasmussen told Fox News that a plea agreement was worked out with the state attorney general. The violation was for unlawfully providing compensation for registering voters based on the total number of people registered. Sentencing for the organization is set for Aug. 10, and the potential fine is a maximum of $5,000.

ACORN itself was named as a criminal defendant in the case for allegedly running an illegal voter registration scheme called "21," or "Blackjack," which paid ACORN workersarned bonuses based on the number of voters they registered in Nevada during the 2008 election.

This is the only case in the country in which ACORN itself was named as a felony defendant. The organization, a one-time community-based activist group, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after dozens of its workers allegedly committed voter fraud in cases that led to numerous convictions.

The deputy regional director of ACORN, Amy Busefink, was sentenced to a year of probation in January after she pleaded the equivalent of a no-contest to two misdemeanor counts of conspiracy in relation to the voter registration payment plan.

ACORN field director Christopher Edwards copped a plea with prosecutors and agreed to testify against Busefink and ACORN.

The original complaint filed in May of 2009, included 26 counts of compensation for registration of voters, a felony At the time Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller, a Democrat, said at the time that "we would be aggressive in our pursuit and prosecution of any fraudulent activity that might threaten the integrity of the election process."

Among the fake names proseuctors said that were filed by ACORN were Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo, along with other members of the team.

ACORN has long faced criticism after dozens of its workers allegedly committed voter registration fraud during the 2008 election. The group dissolved amid falling revenues last year after conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute caught some of its workers offering tax advice to them.

The question is did the Dems cut ties to ACORN or did the support the corrupt oraganization up until they went under and CHANGED THEIR NAME.

I think you could take it one step further and make the argument that Old Whiskeybreath, through his undying love for his Dear Leader, is himself a terrorist, or at least a terrorist sympathizer. There is hope for the Dims that are abandoning the Warlord in Chief, for they are finally getting their eyes opened where their Master is concerned, even including the French looking John Kerry. The ones who are still on their knees for and defending the Dear One are, indeed, terrorists, condoning through their support, silent or otherwise, the murder of innocent foreign men, women, children, employees of the US Government, and US Citizens, and the systematic economic rape and pillage of the United States of America. Nothing like having your minions and lackeys 100% dependant on you.

Someone should photoshop a pic of the Old Windbag wearing a keffiyeh. That way we would know who to look out for when they come knocking at our doors!
