Republican Voters Wants Rubio as Veep

A new CNN poll shows that 28% of Republican voters want to see Se. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as Romney's running mate. Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) came in tied for second place at 16% each. The voters are likely to be disappointed. Romney is not going to gamble on Rubio, who is largely unvetted on the national stage. Also, during his campaign for the Senate, he said his parents fled Castro to come to America and freedom. Only it turns out they came several years before Castro came to power in Cuba. The Democrats will have a field day with this if Rubio is the nominee.

Christie, like Romney, is from a state he can't carry and would largely overshadow Romney all the time with his belligerent style[. Romney doesn't need that. Ryan is the author of a plan to end Medicare and replace it with a voucher program. If he is the Veep nominee, the Democrats will print a million bumper stickers saying "Romney wants to end Medicare" and pass them out in Florida. One of the forces pushing for Ryan is the Wall Street Journal. On the other hand, David Frum, a long-time Republican pundit, argues that picking Ryan would be (almost) the worst thing Romney could do. He says what the Journal and others want is to control his candidacy and later his presidency, which would be a disaster for him. If Ryan gets the nod, Obama will scare the dickens out of every geezer in Florida and come Jan. 20, a geezerless Romney will be an unemployed Romney.

The most likely running mates, Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) and former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty got 6% and 4% in the poll, respectively. But once one of them is chosen, the voters will get used to them quickly.

The Democrats are hoping for Rubio or Ryan because they are so target rich. Portman can be attacked for running the Budget Office for George W. Bush but there is hardly anything to attack about Pawlenty. Romney knows this.

A new CNN poll shows that 28% of Republican voters want to see Se. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as Romney's running mate.

probably the same 28% that stood by the "Romney is the only one electable" claim in the primaries..

I think Rubio is a great jr senator.. and compared to Obama or Biden he would do a better job and is by far more qualified then Obama

but like the romneycare issue.. the birth issue will be used relentlessly against Rubio by the left.. erasing any electability advantage.

The Constitution specifies that a president must be a "natural born citizen" of the United States, but it does not define the term. The Supreme Court has never clarified the issue,

oh well time will tell...

Who ever Romney picks the person will be ten times better that the gaffe master that is now occupying the VP office. Biden is a total disgrace to the US as was his incompetent boss. But whoever it is they better buckle up and be ready for the leftwingnut media digging up every rock in their home states trying to find anything that might help Obama destroy them before Nov.

OMG There was a Leftwingnut just on ORielly claiming it was POSSIBLE ROMNEY DIDN'T PAY TAXES so people deserve to see his tax records to prove one way or the other. He released two years of tax records but now the left want more as it is now POSSIBLE he didn't pay taxes.

Well to that I say IT IS POSSIBLE OBAMA ATTENDED COLLEGE ON FOREIGN AID AND IT IS POSSIBLE HE TRAVELED TO PAKISTAN ON A FOREIGN PASSPORT. It is also POSSIBLE HE HAS A FRAUDULENT SS NUMBER, as he seems to have a number from a state he has never resided in. There is a GREAT POSSIBILITY his released birth certificate is a forgery. It is POSSIBLE Obama had links to organized crime considering his Chicago Mansion land deal, so I believe his records should be openned to clear up all of these POSSIBILITIES. Once those records are openned and investigated it is POSSIBLE more records will be requested.

Since the Left think they can demand records as they think there is a POSSIBILITY of wrong doing I believe the voters have a right to demand the White House records that show who attended the meeting that resulted in the National Security Leaks that are risking US citizens lives as it is POSSIBLE OBAMA WAS THE LEAK.

What makes me think there is no way the Dems are going to demand Obama open his records to clear up anything.

Gee it is also POSSIBLE Obama is running his Super Pac attack ads through his campaign and claiming not to have any influence on them. Let's see him explain why the guy in the attack ad is wearing the same shirt in his campaign ad.

You know how sad a campaign is when they rely on lies and rumors to destroy their opponent because they have nothing else.

Romney to announce running mate Saturday morning

Posted by
CNN Political Reporter Peter Hamby
Richmond, Virginia (CNN) - Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will announce his running mate at the beginning of a four-day, four-state bus tour in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday morning, his campaign announced in a statement late Friday night.

Romney called several of the Republicans on his vice presidential shortlist on Friday evening to tell them he has selected a running mate and to thank them for assisting with his campaign, a Republican familiar with the calls told CNN. Romney did not indicate on the calls who he had selected as his running mate, according to the source.

-----------------

Ann Romney, the candidate's wife, also landed in Norfolk after her trip to the Olympic Games in London.

Yep the talking head "experts" and pundits were right- Romney was waiting for his wife and horse to get home from the Olympics... Priorities

Not the most perfect timing on a weekend- but he's desperate to try and get the attention away from his finance records and tax avoidance issues...
But I'm afraid those issues won't go away.....

:D I do like your jokes. I'm really starting to get them.

Obama lied either about being Kenyan born or he is lying about being American born.... one way or the other he lied and no one did anything about it for years after his campaign run and still haven't. Rubio is just mentioned and they already have had time to vet everything about him, his dog, his ex girlfriends, how many times he tinkled a day at daycare, and if he cried when old yeller died.

That is pretty funny. Keep them coming, there is a drought and I need a laugh.

Another feather in obamas resume

Obama: Look, no holes in my socks
SPRINGS, Colo. -- It was something of a rare presidential moment.

President Obama, visiting the Olympic training center here, had slipped his shoes off to greet athletes on a wrestling mat.

When he went to retrieve them, he plunked right down to put them on, with a gaggle of cameras rolling and reporters standing in front of him.

One reporter, CBS's Peter Maer, remarked, "Very presidential, sir," according to a pool report.

“Thanks. No holes in my socks,” the president joked. “My grandmother would be proud.”
