No secret that the economy has hit everyone. Retialers stores have enjoyed hiking the prices up so they could make a living. Well the ecomony has finally hit them I stoped at a convince store sunday afternoon the employed clerk said i was the first person to stop in this was at 4:00 pm I assume they opened at noon or 1 since it was sunday.
The store smelled like propne leak she said the store owners were letting the propane tank tank run completly out before they could afford to buy some more.....
A two weeks ago I went into one of our local feed stores to buy some range cake they call it cubes here. At @ $20 per hundred. I bought two bags to say the least this was at 1:00 in the afternoon and I was also the first customer of the day as they had to start up their fancy computer to write me a ticket on it. It took longer for the computer to load. The store owner wanted to talk alot as he said if someone sees a pickup someone else may come in....
This past summer I had to ask tire shops if they would fix a flat rear tire on our tractor. One said no the other said maybe in a couple of days. Now if you even stop in the lot they come out and ask you if they can help you.
Since Christmas our town is like vacant waiting for some drving by to stop in so the can skin them.
I would be interested to read comments about some other experience that people of had.
By the way my adult brother took the career of broadcasting he was layed off (Major city job not rural) As most of you know people of color are taking over broadcasting also.
