“I am a part of all that I have met.” Ulysses by Tennyson

The Obama-lovin’ media wants you to believe that the Reverend Wright earthquake has passed. Some would have you believe that Obama turned a negative into a positive with his embarrassing public contortionism defending Wright and giving us a history lesson on American racism from Plymouth Rock to the Freedom Riders, as if Reverend Wright’s inexcusable hate needs a context.

Nothing is further from the truth.

There is much to be told about Reverend Wright, Obama’s mentorship with this hate-monger, and the larger implication this relationship has for the Democratic Party and its strained coalition.

Long before Reverend Wright entered the national stage, Ryan Lizza of The New Republic, in the March 19, 2007 issue, dropped this little gem:

Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinity’s guiding principles–what the church calls the “Black Value System”[Emphasis added]

Why should Reverend Wright’s past as Muslim concern us?

First, Reverend Wright’s hate sermons are virtually identical as those given by his good friend, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who followed in the footsteps of Malcolm X. For example, this description by Ben Wallace Wells, published in Rolling Stone—a magazine that favors Obama, most likely in serving the interests of their demographic–in February, prior to the release of the Wright videos, makes clear the connection:

Wright takes the pulpit here one Sunday and solemnly, sonorously declares that he will recite ten essential facts about the United States. “Fact number one: We’ve got more black men in prison than there are in college,” he intones.

“Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!” There is thumping applause; Wright has a cadence and power that make Obama sound like John Kerry.

Now the reverend begins to preach. “We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional KILLERS. . . . We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. . . . We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. . . . We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!”

The crowd whoops and amens as Wright builds to his climax: “And. And. And! GAWD! Has GOT! To be SICK! OF THIS ****!…This is as openly radical a background as any significant American political figure has ever emerged from, as much Malcolm X as Martin Luther King Jr.

The racist paranoia of AIDS being developed by white America to kill blacks and other inexcusable statements are from the same framework of the NOI and Farrakhan. In fact:

In 1984, Wright was one of the inner circle that traveled with Farrakhan to visit Libyan strongman Col. Muammar Khadafy. The ostentatious Farrakhan junket came at a time when Khadafy had been identified as the world’s chief financier of international terrorism, including the Black September group behind the Munich Olympics massacre.

Secondly, while Obama’s plagiarism of a speech delivered by Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X to mostly black audiences has been correctly noted as a racial dog-whistle, it has not been examined in the larger context of the black separatist movement from which it originates.

Third, why did Wright’s church put the racist and anti-Semitic Farrakhan on the cover of its magazine Trumpet? Why did Trinity Church post:

a manifesto by Hamas that defended terrorism as legitimate resistance, refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist and compared the terror group’s official charter – which calls for the murder of Jews – to America’s Declaration of Independence[?]

The three points above show a consistent pattern of Wright parroting not only the language and but also the attitude of the Nation of Islam.

Wright has synthesized Christianity and an odious brand of Islam. When two religions become one, social scientists refer to this as a syncretic religion.
For example, the Mayans developed Mexican Catholicism as a subversive way to maintain their culture in the face of Spanish conquest.
The Reverend Wright may no longer be a Muslim, but he clearly embraces Hamas, Minister Farrakhan and others because they dovetail with his established world view, as with other syncretic religions.

Reverend Wright’s hate speeches are a glimpse of someone who has blended Nation of Islam and Black Nationalist Liberation Theology into a subversive Christianity, one that would hardly be recognized by most black Christians, and much less so mainstream American Christians, regardless of color. Indeed, one suspects that Jesus himself would have a difficult time recognizing the message delivered by Jeremiah Wright.

Obama’s 20-year mentorship with Wright not only demonstrates an incredible lack of judgment, but also highlights his views on race. Comments about his Grandmother being a typical white person may simply sound immature, unappreciative, and dismissive of the woman who helped raise him, but in the tradition of Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, and Jeremiah Wright, calling someone a typical white person is an insult indicating a world view.

Before some of the holier than thou pious neocons get thru they'll be burning effigy's of King Saul, Joseph Smith, Martin Luther, and Buddah as they raise their armies against the believers of Muhammad.... :( :( Might as well go after the Greek Orthodox, the Oriental Orthodox, and the Nestorians too as they don't follow the neocon drumbeat...

If these folks would look around the world- they would find that there are 1000's of differing sects of just Christians- 100's in the US alone...But I suppose if it isn't Bible Belt style religion it doesn exist -eh :???:  :( Each culture/area has adopted their traditions to the religion...Should Soap and others be chastised because they posted pictures of church on horseback- or religious wedding ceremonies where, God forbid, they wore cowboy hats and boots   :(

Just like I didn't care what kind of religiously connotated underwear Romney wore- I could care less how Obamas ex minister converted to Christianity.....What gives any of us the right to criticize/chastise anyones religion?

What gives any of us the right to criticize/chastise anyones religion?

one might ask what gives you the right to criticize/chastise conservatives on a regular basis..

or to try to claim every post is about "neocons"..

articles such as this are to inform and allow others to make decisions based on more information then the liberal biased media lets the public know..

the internet has become a "the rest of the story" for most of America..

this article is another part of how Obama choses his advisors.. and relevent.. in fact it is more relevant then McCain being cast as Bush's successor.. as Obama claims to not be able to distance himself from Wright,...

I guess you missed the videos of those gruesome beheadings in the name of "Allah"?

For some reason the Muslim religion has elevated immensely within the Black race, here, and elsewhere.

The common denominator is hate for white Christians. aka "The Infidels".

Keep your don't care attitude.......... and your grandchildrens children will be worshipping right along side them.

The problem I have seen with so much of this "get Obama thru his preacher" is that much of it is either false, half truths, or biasedly tainted...
Just like this article criticizing Rev. Wright (a former US marine) for his trip to Libya with Farrakhan- they forgot to mention all the other ministers in the group- or what they accomplished- or the praise they received from President Reagan...Just like the thousands of e-mails that flood the internet claiming Obama is a Muslim- no one looks further...

A gaffe of Wright, has been oft quoted in the media, "When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli to visit Muammar al-Gaddafi with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell." The trip Wright was referring to was twenty-three years prior, when he traveled to Libya and Syria on a peace mission along with an ecumenical body of ministers. Chaired by Rev. M. William Howard and led on the ground by Rev. Jesse Jackson who brought about a dozen other ministers including Minister Louis Farrakhan, the trip resulted in the freeing of United States Navy pilot Lt. Robert Goodman, who was captured after his fighter jet had been shot down over Lebanon. At the White House on January 4, 1984, hours after the group arrived back in the U.S., U.S. President Ronald Reagan welcomed Lt. Goodman and said that the "mission of mercy" in which Wright had participated had "earned our gratitude and our admiration." Wright has stated that his trip implied no endorsement of either Louis Farrakhan’s views or Gaddafi’s.

Mike- you'd really have problems in some of our Native American church services where over the years they've combined Christianity with many of their native culture which includes drums and traditional singers in church, sweatlodges, and (even tho outlawed) sundances and hanging folks up from pieces of their skin in religous lodges as they dance...

But no different than some of the other Christian beliefs around the world that believe in flagilism....

I watched some video of the illustrious Rev. Wright.

If you could seriously call him a "Patriot" of the USA, you would be fooling no one but yourself.

The ' hissy' over a man that is not even running for a political office is a prime example of " the sky is falling" mentality.

Besides...gov't and church are to separate...right??? Isn't that written down somewhere....on some old parchement somewhere....by some old dudes long ago???????

The same goes for the thread about poking around in Spitzer's sex life-relationship with his wife, what she did or didn't know.

Has Wright cut any heads off- how about Obama?

How about the millions of other Muslims living in the US? That increases by about 100,000 a year and of which we've had followers of the religion since the 1700's.....

I think the nut that shot all the folks outside the Church in Colorado was Christian-does that mean all Christians should be chastised and despised because of his actions.... :???:

I agree that radical Islam is dangerous and a threat to our country- but I also know that there are millions of Muslims that do not follow their beliefs...And I think the reason so many fear or are against the Muslim religion in the US is because the majority of the followers are Black- and its became a psuedo- racism....

Kind of reminds me of the 1800's- when they overreacted to some actions by certain Indian tribes and developed the belief "that the only good Indian was a dead Indian"-- and then in the name of God and Country committed atrocities against many peacefull tribes out of letting fear take over their religious and moral principles.....

The problem in defense is how far you can go without destroying from within what you are trying to defend from without. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower

ALL RELIGIONS involve one basic rule:

Me being right....you being wrong .

There is always death and destruction caused by religion using the above sentence as the justification.

Romans killed Jesus...said he was wrong.

Hitler killed Jews...said they were wrong.

Pope killed whoever got in his way...said they were wrong.

Don't forget those "radical" Mormons- who after their founder and his family was killed in the Mountains Meadows massacre went to Utah where they were involved in several killings and massacres to keep folks/government out- including the 1857 massacre of 120 settlers bound for California....

I suppose thats all Romneys fault too- shouldn't be following such a "violent' religion...

One could always bring some part of ancient history in to prove a point,  I suppose, but the Muslim movement is today.........and they want to cut our childrens heads off if they don't convert to Islam.

How many regular run of the mill Muslims are speaking out against the radical ones committing all the atrocities?

Malcolm X hated the US type of government just as Farrakahn does. With Wright falling right in step with, you just know he feels the same way.

And Obama HAS TO KNOW IT!!!!!!

but the Muslim movement is today.........The so called Muslim movement begin in 570C.E. when Mohammed was born,.

Pleeeeeezzzeeeee!!

How many regular run of the mill Muslims are speaking out against the radical ones committing all the atrocities? What's the opinion of the run of the mill Muslims in Alabama say on this topic?   I know of several familes in Cairo that are TOTALLY against what's going on

Lets see... when we talk about Billy Clinton, it's the past.. but on religion it quickly goes back over 1500 years....  so some history is an acceptable argument yet other history is not..

add in that as soon as someone attacks Obama's charactor some feels a need to bash Bush.. or call every one a racist.. so much for open honest discussion...  anyways I degress again... sorry..

back to the topic..

Learning from our histories' past mistakes is important.. not allowing religious leaders to further hate is deadly important if you look at religion and history..

ignoring Wrights comments is as dangerous as ignoring history.. he and many others are preaching hatred.. and that is wrong... no matter what religion he claims to represent.. I see no defense for his hate invoking sermons..

so even if you take a historical perspective Hatred was wrong ten thousand years ago and Hatred will still be wrong for the next thousand years.. to bad Obama and some liberals can't see that..
