10/04/2012 updated forecast still gives win to Mitt Romney

With the presidential election a little more than a month away, political science professors from the University of Colorado have updated their election forecast with more current economic conditions and are standing by their prediction that Mitt Romney will win.

The professors -- Kenneth Bickers of CU's Boulder campus and Michael Berry of CU's Denver campus -- project that Romney will earn 330 of the total 538 Electoral College votes.

President Barack Obama is expected to receive 208 votes, which is down five from the initial prediction that the professors announced on Aug. 22.

The model developed by Bickers and Berry is based on the Electoral College and, they say, it is the only one of its type to include more than one state-level measure of economic conditions. To make their predictions, the professors comb economic data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The professors' model includes state and national unemployment figures as well as changes in income.

The professors have identified 13 battleground states and the only one to change in the update was New Mexico, which they now predict as a narrow victory for Romney.

The model predicts that Romney will carry Colorado, with 53.3 percent of the vote. Bickers said that Colorado should expect to see more activity from both the Obama and Romney campaigns.

darn debate cost Obama five more electoral votes..

In the two foreign affairs debates Romney needs to keep bringing up the lack of security provided to those in Libya when there was multiple requests for added security. He needs to point out the Valerie Jarrett has more Secret Service Protection while on vacation in a US resort area than Ambassadors did in terrorist ridden countries.

He also needs to keep asking where the intel came from that pointed to the video that Obama and Hillary was and are using as an EXCUSE for the attacks? Obama had a dozen reports linking the attacks to AlQueada and Terrorist activities within a day so what report linked them to the video? If there was no reports why did the Obama Administration keep pushing that story line? He also needs to ask who was it that sent Susan Rice out to all the Sunday morning talk shows to push the idea when reports were already out to the media, via the Libyan President, that it was a PREMEDITATED PLANNED TERRORIST ATTACK.

Obama needs to answer questions about the top secret leaks out of the White House and the access his Administration gave to a movie producer who is making the SPIKE THE BALL MOVIE about Osama's death. If the movie causes riots that result in more deaths of American citizens will Holder arrest the producer for inciting violence. Will Obama use Tax Payer money to go on Foreign TV and claim his administration had nothing to do with the Muslim offending movie?

Since the rioters were chanting Obama Obama we are all Osamas is he going to stop spiking the ball about the death of Osama?

Romney needs to ask if Obama supported the Intel system set up by Bush that lead to the intel that resulted in the dead of Osama, as we all know he didn't and if Obama would have had his way the US would not have had that intel.

Romney also need to point out that Obama keeps taking credit for the end of the Iraq war but it was BUSH that signed the agreements that lead to the end of the war.

Romney needs to bring up Fast and Furious and ask why heads have not rolled over it. If Holder didn't know HE SHOULD HAVE as that Obama Administration operation involved a FOREIGN COUNTRY and resulted in hundreds of deaths in both Mexico and the US. When Obama tries to link Fast and Furious to the Bush Administration Romney needs to make sure everyone knows he is lying as the Bush operation was carried out with the knowledge of Mexico and was called off when they lost track of the guns. Fast and Furious was started under the Obama Administration WITHOUT the knowledge of Mexico and was called off after one of those guns showed up at the death scene of a US Border Patrol agent.

Obama can not be allowed to continue blaming Bush for operations started under Obama's watch, just like he can not be allowed to take full credit for operation that were started under the Bush Administration. Romney needs to show OBAMA'S TRUE RECORD not the one Obama wants to claim as his. If he does that he will win the next two debates just as he did the first one.

Since Romney is a conservative and obviously worries about spending and the coming collapse, I would love to hear him ask Obama where we're getting the money for all our foreign interventions. Also tell Obama we need to let other countries join the fight to stop terrorism and jihad.

Conservatives are for being responsible and pulling your own weight, but then we provide defense for the whole world. Essentially a form of welfare. If the jihadists are out to kill all the chrisitians, why doesn't for example, Brazil join the fight in the middle east?

Brazilians are getting rich, partly because we spend the trillions fighting wars for them. So what are they doing with their extra money? Buying up property in the U.S. that we cannot afford.

We're going bankrupt chasing muslims around the world, and we think we're winning. We are fools.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.

These results are based upon nightly interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, today’s update is the first based entirely upon interviews conducted after the first presidential debate last Wednesday night.
