Ron Paul’s Counter Convention

Jesse Ventura was on CNN tonite (since McCain got mad and took his ball home   ) -- and he said that he spent the day at the Ron Paul Revolution meeting today in Minneapolis-- and that there was over 15,000 participants....Folks that can no longer buy into the neocon Republicanism- and their failure to support the rule of law and the Constitution- and are trying to start a Revolution to take back the party/country...

When asked why he was not supporting McCain or the traditional Republican party- his answer was "Because they say one thing- and then do the opposite"....
Ventura said that the actions of the Republicans tonight and the way they are treating Dr. Paul, reminds him of Hermann Goring described tactics...

I think Jesse has them figured out....

Ron Paul’s Counter Convention
CBSNews.com Reports: As Republicans Gathered At The RNC In Minnesota, The Faithful Rallied Around Their Own Saint Paul

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 2, 2008

(CBS) This story was written by CBSNews.com political reporter Brian Montopoli.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was, Ron Paul allows, “a bit of a slight.”

Until this year, the longtime Texas Congressman and former presidential candidate has had no problem getting floor passes to the Republican National Convention. This time around, he said, all he could get was a “second class” pass. He was only allowed on the convention floor, he was told, with a chaperone; he could bring no staff with him; and when he left the hall, his credentials would be taken away.

As for a speaking slot - something traditionally offered to candidates who garnered support during the presidential primary - Paul said simply, “that wasn’t available to us.”

Not that Paul didn’t have other plans. On Tuesday, as Republican delegates gathered for the second night of the RNC in St. Paul, the Libertarian-leaning congressman was holding court at the Target Center in nearby Minneapolis, the 15,000-plus capacity home of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Paul faithful had gathered in Minneapolis for the “Rally For The Republic,” an effort to call the GOP “back to its roots.”

JESSE VENTURA? ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!

You are ready for the nursing home for Alzheimer's patients.

Jesse was so jealous of Hulk Hogan he couldn't stand it. He just absolutley hated the ground Hogan walked on. Not that there is/was anything wrong with that. Problem is, Old Komrade is just like Hulkster and "The Body".........ain't one of the three can tell the difference between a wristlock and a wristwatch..........

Next Old Komrade will want The Iron Sheik or Nikolai Volkoff to run for Governor of Montana!

So What you're saying Loomix is that you buy into "the parties" and McCains treatment of a Republican Congressman ( and one that got the most votes for President in our county- and 2nd in our state) because he won't go "Heil to der Furhrer" or support their warmongering fear tactics, they have to keep echoing since they have no other policy...
I suppose you- like the neocon cultist followers think Paul is a nonpatriot too.... :???:

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

What I'm saying is that Jesse is a flake, and so are you. Since your gleeful attack on the young Palin girl, you have zero credibility, are worthy of no respect, and deserve to be treated accordingly.

Your hatred must know no bounds.

While I care more about a few votes then city votes..

I don't think your county vote matters much to either party..

I don't remember any connection with the Posse or Kahl- and they were operating right in my area...Altho if I remember right, they both supported the gold standard- and oppose the power of the Federal Government...

Paul is a strong states rights supporter and backer of the rule of law and the Constitution- issues many believe the current Republican party has thrown out the door...

The only politician I can remember related to the radical right groups was Karl Ohl, who as Lt. Governor was the only person the Freemen would negotiate with...

McCain in talks with Ron Paul for backing

ST. PAUL, Minn. | The McCain campaign, acting through the Republican National Committee, has been negotiating with Rep. Ron Paul to win his support and acquire the names of his sympathizers among the 4,607 delegates and alternates at the Republican National Convention, according to a senior aide to the Texas congressman.

The aim is to try to win support for the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket from Paul sympathizers, some of whom formally committed to Mr. Paul during his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination and others of whom are closet sympathizers of his libertarian brand of Republicanism.

Sen. McCain and national party strategists worry that Mr. Paul's sympathizers will vote for Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party candidate and former Republican congressman who shares many of Mr. Paul's views.

Mr. Paul has refused to endorse Mr. McCain, and Mr. McCain's operatives have refused to let him address the Republican National Convention.

As a result, Mr. Paul decided to hold a rally of his own Tuesday billed as the "Campaign for Liberty." Initially set to be held at the University of Minnesota's 11,000-seat Williams Arena, it has been moved to the far-larger Target Center in Minneapolis. Mr. Paul said in an interview that he expects to attract up to 18,000 people.

Yep Maxine-- some folks don't want the bigger government- bigger federal bureaucracy- big national debt- drunken sailor spending that we've seen promoted by the Administration that has been in power the past 7 1/2 years...

Used to be a time when the Republican Party supported the same beliefs-- then the neocons took control :( :(

Jesse Ventura was on

not sure what he is on,.. but any person who blames US for Sept 11 has a problem..

while Ventura has not only served his country in the Navy, and even tried politics,.. over the last few years he has really tarnished that service.. which didn't seem likely considering his prior behavior..

In 2005, Ventura repeatedly discussed leaving the United States. In September of 2005, Ventura announced on The Mike Malloy Show that he was leaving the U.S. In late October 2005, he went on the The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and reiterated that he was leaving the U.S. due to, among other things, censorship. He has since moved to Baja California, Mexico.

adding in his views on September 11, and I question any one who would have him on...

maybe if Ron Paul (and you) want to be taken seriously he should stop hanging around with other kooks..

after Paul announced his counter convention (counter to the republican convention) why would any one want him to speak at the convention..

did it occur to you two, that Ron Paul's snub of the republicans might be the reason they didn't invite him?

OT if you planned a big BBQ a really big BBQ and gave every one four years notice and invites.. and at the last minute, a neighbor planned a little bbq over at his place on the same weekend.. would you let him drink all your beer after he finished off his?...

Probably not.. sure you'd make sure he he had something to eat.. and might even give him another beer.. but wouldn't you be a bit worried that now that his party was over and he was already drunk. that he might need a bit of watching so he didn't piss all over your floor..

Oh- I don't think its bothering Ron Paul-- he's spent his life following the rule of law and the Constitution- and not listening to the drumbeat that happens to be the fad of the day...

And just like Bob Dole and Newt have said- Paul agrees the Republican party is going to get a butt kicking this year like they've never seen before- and when they finally sit down and reorganize and get back on track- he hopes to play a big part in getting them back on track....

His following was shown by the number of votes he got in the more conservative and Libertarian areas of the country- and by the huge outpouring of donations he got from the military personnel (second only to Obama, now)..

Did you actually look at the audience in the Repub convention the last few days- it definitely looks like an OLD (and I mean Geritol old) white guys country club...My SIL and I were watching the closing- and he commented, thats the first black guy I've saw on the stage...Palins probably the first speaker they had under 50...Jon Stewart on the Daly Show was having a hayday with clips of the old fogies Thompson/Lieberman echoing all the problems of the country- making it out that just maybe- all these old fogies are the cause of all these problems :???:

If the Repubs can't do something to bring in the younger generations (they've almost lost the last 2)- and some of the minorities they will never get themselves pulled back together...Just pandering to a far evangelical right wing- isn't going to win nationwide elections...Like the guy in the open mic said- its over-- those days are over..
Maybe Palin is the one that can start bringing in some of those younger voters- but I'm afraid her philosophies don't match with many...

First of All,Was jesse not a Governor of a state in America? Is there no credibilty in that?...

Loomixguy, you keep accusing people of attacking others, yet you feel its ok to do the same when it suits your sycophant behavior?..You always come across in here as better then everybody else, yet many times it is just your bully mentality that is offered..You only attack those who follow a different party line...You never stand up when a conservative in here steps over a line...Your not of any substance, your a follower and enjoy being one of the loud mouth minion's in here....I am just tired of putting up with people like you here, that treat people because of their politcal party...you just rag on people and then wait till you can come back and do it again....At least offer some intellegent banter instead of the attacking dribble you continue to offer up..Your starting to get boring if the truth be known..

I was wondering as I watched it if anyone else noticed the makeup of the audience at the RNC. I tell you, I bet Palin felt like a teenager there, I guess that is a plus for the Rep's though, at least in one respect.

At least the Rep convention doesn't look like the filming of an old "Tarzan" movie.

Complete with everything except the big black "boiling" pot.
