I loved him too. And while he didn't bow to our enemies, we did cut and rut from Lebanon after the bombing of the marine barracks. There were other dark days during the Reagan presidency. Fortunately, on balance though, the good far outweighed the bad.
As for the current administration, I'm still waiting for that first good day.
