No rope ever brought up my school averages. :wink: :cowboy:
 
Dang... I'm going to have to order one of those ropes for my husband as the ones he buys still have lots of misses even after he's used to them!!! :wink:

nope, all I had were two worn out ropes, so that was my average number of times that i made it
 
You should have grown up in the days of the old "grass" ropes- that went limp as a noodle at times- and that you had to throw in the water trough to give a little firmness to....You had to learn how to rope with anything that'd make a loop.... :wink: :lol:

hehe-my last "limp noodle" ended up as a pull rope for the gut tub...
 
If you have enough time to figure your "average", you better get a faster horse!!!! :???: :lol: :???:

Or maybe a better set of Nike's :lol:
 
I guess I'm not much of a cowboy cuz the first thing I have to do to a new rope so I can get along with it is leave it out in the weather for a while, and drag something heavy through the uncleaned corrals. I've also found it doesn't hurt to tie it between two trees with something heavy hanging from it for a week or two as well. Eventually they either come around or take on a new life holding gates shut. :shock:

How bout those silk manilla with the brass hondo? The old grass ropes hade a different attitude depending on the weather. You have to buy stiffness now, a few years back you made it.
 
my old ropes were hemp and nylon, both used way to much, lost their stretch. This new one I have is a no break in required rope, and it holds a loop, the old one i used most was a heavier rope and was as limp as a noodle, the hemp one was like throwing a loop of thick steel cable.

I think Classic makes one called RADAR ....maybe that will help.

I always used the SEARCH AND RESCUE loop.... in my woeful attempts to catch whatever it landed on!
