Neighbor has a Vermeer and he likes it tooo. I still like my hesston ease of operation and baling rotary straw is a snap.

Thanks Shelley. I guess I can look but I'd better finish the payments on the one I have first!! The way the weather is going we may have to consider silage instead of dry feed! It is sure different knowing that there is a great hay crop to cut when the weather turns-we've grazed our hayfields the last 4 years.....drought doesn't give you many choices :!:

I run a NH 678 autowrap. Has been a good baler. No electronics to give you probs..just a buzzer to tell you when it starts to tie a bale.

I run a 457 John Deere round baler with the BaleTrak computer. It works great. I use netwrap on the "good cuttings" and twine on the first cutting, which usually has winter grasses in it.
The net wrap is expensive but it does hold the bales shape better and repel water better. It also makes baling a whole lot faster.

The baler (and all John Deere stuff) may cost a little more but resale value is great.

For small square balers, New Holland is my choice.
