The Neo Cons on here dont seem to have the stomach for it either or whenever I have talked about ways of wrapping things up, everybody on here gets quiet.
Just blows my mind how some seem to care more about the well being of Jihad fanatics

I never did quite understand the Neo-con label....so I looked it up...

.,...neo- refers to two ways in which neoconservatism was new. First, many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from socialist backgrounds, were new to conservatism. Also, neoconservatism was a comparatively recent strain of conservative socio-political thought.

so in effect the NEO CONs every one complains about are just liberals that tried to be conservatives?

I must be an old conservative......

I don't care how you kill a radical Jihad Muslum Terrorist......shoot him (or her)....lynch them,,blow them up...just Kill them.....

so who are the so called Neo-cons?

To me a neo-con is somebody who cheats a Vet out of his pension. Who sends his saddle horse to slaughter instead of out to pasture. Who divorces his wife for a younger one. Who discards employees when they get hurt or start to get old.
Neo-Cons tend to be born on third base but think they have hit a triple.
To me neo cons preach Duty, Valour, Virtue, Loyality but yet they dont practice what they preach.
If somebody will do anything for a buck, I would tend to think of them as a Neo-Con.
Compare alot of current Conservatives to old time Conservatives like Theodore Roosevelt or Dwight D. Eisenhower. IMO There really is no resemblance.

Roper, that puts you to the left of the righties and makes you a centrist. Now you can be called a liberal by the neocons but who cares. To them Rush Limbaugh is liberal (actually in many ways he is on top of being a hypocrit).

Sounds like every single person in Washington and probably 80% of the Human Race are Neo-Cons. Maybe we could just call them Neo-Humans?

There are plenty of things I will not do for a buck. Happy I don't qualify for a Neo-Con

clinton sadam and bin laden are the three most responsible for terrorism in the world. one funded it, one lead it, and one turned his back as it happened.
shoot all 3

I am no fan of any of those three clowns but following that line of thinking where would the Reagan administration rank given their ties to Saddam?

thier ties to Saddam were in fact an attempt to screw up Iran....so it is a double edged sword. I wish we could have another Reagan in the White House...... this country needs a good dose of Reagan again.

Bad thing is if things go in 08 like they did in 06 we will probably be getting another dose of Clinton or Carter. Or even worse a combination of Clinton's week security policies and Carters economic policies

Your right jigs it was a double edged sword that ended up being a fatal choice.
Hindsight is perfect but what shocks me is the number of Americans that now choose to ignore the relationship that the US had with Saddam in the past.

Reagan was a great leader however as with all leaders sometimes their advisors leave room for questioning and who knows what information he was fed to base his decisions on at that time? I agree that another Reagan would be welcome for most of the world.

many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from socialist backgrounds,

Yep it does describe alot of greedy liberals......

but the fact is the movement is liberals who sought power by being conservative...

The prefix neo- refers to two ways in which neoconservatism was new. First, many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from socialist backgrounds, were new to conservatism. Also, neoconservatism was a comparatively recent strain of conservative socio-political thought. It derived from a variety of intellectual roots in the decades following World War II, including literary criticism and the social sciences.....

In the early 1970s, Socialist Michael Harrington prominently used the term in a manner similar to the modern meaning. He characterized neoconservatives as former leftists,... These people tended to remain supporters of social democracy.,..Historically, neoconservatives tolerated more social welfare...

funny how a bunch of dis-enfranchized liberals hiijacked our conservitive party, and now conservatives are blamed for thier problems.....

ROTFLMAO! You supported the Iraq War encouraged by the NeoCons. You didn't complain when they turned out to be wrong about that. You didn't complain when Bush appointed them to important jobs. Now that the American people have said we don't want that sort of government, you try to foist them off on the liberals. Won't work. Wolfowitz is yours. Bolton is yours. Rummy is yours. Cheney is yours. Rice is yours. The Iraq War is yours. The Federal deficit is yours.
